  1. I’m thankful for my daughter Brooke and that my brother Seth survived a major medical scare due to a seizure last week and will be home to join us for Thanksgiving.

  2. I am so thankful for so many things, but today, as I look around my very full kitchen and I prepare to prepare a feast for family and friends, I am most thankful for a hard working husband who provides the means for us to have this holiday, and for the loved ones in our lives who are willing ot make a journey to be with us, and with our children to share a day of family.

  3. I am thankful for my children’s laughter! It is one of the highlights of my day! It’s God’s way of reminding of what precious gifts they are to my husband and I.

  4. I am so thankful for a husband who tries his best to provide for our family and is humble enough to ask other strong Christian guys for input when he needs to make decisions and also talks kindly to me. For my 4 amazing kids who enjoy having me as their teacher every day. For friends and family to share life with. For a new to us minivan after our old one died. For my Savior who transforms me daily.

  5. I’m thankful for my fellow travelers – sisters-in-spirit who encourage me when the going gets rough, remind me to be thankful, and challenge my assumptions. (including {in}courage!!)

  6. I’m thankful for a Godly man coming into the life of my daughter and her 3 girls. Also thankful for the blessing of being able to help them through a difficult time the last 4 years. God is so good!

  7. I am thankful for my fledgling little church community — they have become wonderful friends and truly have held me and my family and loved us so well this year.

  8. I am thankful for the transforming power of purposely being thankful in each moment, even when it’s not easy. What a life changer that is–an incredible blessing!

  9. I am thankful for the gospel….the good news that Jesus Christ has measured up in my place. Thankful that God has shown me the freedom in this truth so that I can be free from striving!

  10. I am thankful for the gift of each new day, to show His love, to grow closer to Him, to learn more of how to be a God follower!

  11. I am thankful for the new friends God has brought through blogging and for the anticipation of my sister’s family (3 adorable nephews!) coming for Thanksgiving.

  12. We are currently moving, and while I highly dislike moving, I am thankful for all of the things I am finding. All the lost socks in my sock drawer are finding their mates!

  13. I’m thankful for so many God sightings in my life right now…He’s there in my homeroom with a gaggle of sixth graders; He’s in my reading Hosea with my coffee each morning; He’s in the laughter, tears, and prayers of my Thursday 6:30 AM friends’ meeting; He’s in my kitchen as I’m cooking for my daughter and her special young man coming home for Thanksgiving; He’s in my husband’s cleaning the house for me; He’s in our little inner city church’s worship.

  17. I am so thankful for developing friendships, for like minded friends to share the ups and downs of life with.

  18. I am thankful for God’s amazing grace! We certainly don’t live in a world that offers grace very often, but we serve a God who lavishes us with it. We are working on a song for our Christmas outreach that paints such a vivid picture of what the manger means in our lives … for our salvation. He gave us mercy we didn’t deserve and poured out His grace upon us. We are so privileged to live in a country where we can hear that truth on the radio and through the web. Thank You Lord for all those intangible blessings!

  19. I am thankful for the quietness and the peace in my home this week. Much needed after the last couple of weeks. My house is quiet….. Three children sound asleep for afternoon naps……..The sweet smell of candles burning………. The tumbling sound of the dryer……… The sink overflowing with dishes ready to be washed in a sink full of warm water………. Finally we have stopped……. An afternoon of just being quiet and trying to regroup…… A much needed day………. Thank you so much God for all of these things, we are so blessed even in our tiredness.

  29. i have many, many things to be thankful for, but at the moment i am ever-so-thankful for my wonderful husband! he is a godly man, an amazing father, a great friend and such an encouragement to me. what a tremendous blessing his is in my life!

    shana

  30. our sweet small group from church. they have become our family and we couldn’t imagine life without them.

  31. I love that wooden caddy. Happy American Thanksgiving week! We had our thanksgiving a month and a half ago 😉 But I’m still thankful…at the moment the first thing that comes to mind, after husband and kids, is friends. I’ve never been good at making friends, and it’s only been in the past couple of years that I’ve really gotten close to anyone other than my 2 best friends. Hooray for moms’ group!

  32. I am thankful that God provided a job for my husband the day after he lost his last week. God provides even in those scary situations like being unemployed!!

  33. Well, currently, I’m sitting in my hospital bed and truly thinking how grateful I am for the medical knowledge the Lord has given us. I’m thankful that in the smallest of our ailments and the largest of our ailments, the Lord is right there holding on to us.

  38. I am thankful to God for the family that he has blessed me with, and for the abundance of food we will eat on Thursday when so many in the world will be hungry. I am thankful for black friday sales, because it’s so much fun!

  39. I am thankful for the Lord’s faithful provision of meeting my family’s material needs, teaching me to walk by Faith and Not By Sight!

  40. I have had a really hard year. I am most thankful for God’s word and how it can speak truth into my life no matter what we are going through and for an amazing husband who loves the Lord and leads us to His word.

  41. I am thankful that My home is being prepared for me. I am thankful that while I travel here he is in control. And I am thankful That my Favorite people in the world are the ones I live with! <3 Happy Thanksgiving!!

  42. I am very thankful for a loving Heavenly Father. The depths of His grace, mercy and love are more than I can ever comprehend.

  43. I’m thankful to NOT be pregnant this thanksgiving, but instead able to enjoy playing in the winter wonderland with my handsome hubby, awesome son, and beautiful baby girl!

  44. I am thankful for the people that our Lord has placed in my life. The ones there for a reason, the ones for only a season, and the permanent figures in my life. They are all so special and purposeful and special. I praise God for each person’s unique gifts and perspectives that bring so much light and joy to me.

  45. I am thankful that my family is traveling across 2 states to visit me and this is the first time in 8 years that WE’RE hosting a holiday. Yay!!

  46. We found out this week that our third baby is our third boy! I admit I was a little disappointed at first because I wanted a girl SO BAD (don’t judge) but I am so grateful for a house full of healthy boys who will grow up to be great brothers together! 🙂

  47. I am thankful for our God, freedom to worship him, for the military who protects our freedoms, for my precious family and so very much more. I am blessed in so many meaningful ways!

  48. So thankful for my husband and four kids that God has given me…never thought I’d have FOUR, but they are each one a blessing! I am also very grateful for the opportunity that our family has to serve in Mexico as missionaries…we are still getting settled in and are collecting household things, so right now my silverware caddy is a large tin can! lol

  49. We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia, but I think we should. I am thankful for my family and for God’s love and faithfulness. Today I am especially thankful that we live in a relatively safe country, that food and fresh water are in abundant supply . I remember my brother and sisters across the globe who don’t enjoy these basics in life.

Thank you for another beautiful post Melissa. Love and blessings to you, Shirley xxx

  50. I am so very thankful that a close friend who has been waiting, 6 hours from their home and family, 129 days for a lung transplant is going in to surgery right at this very moment.
What a Thanksgiving gift. We are praying that all goes well.

  51. I teach school in a small private school. This year I have my neighbor’s child in class. Yesterday, she texted me the sweetest message. She told me what a blessing I was to her and her boy; and she said dinner would be delivered that night. I cried. I’m so thankful to be thought of in such a way. I’ve taught 22 years, and that has never happened. God is gracious and humbles me with his love and the love of sisters in Christ.

  52. I am thankful for those things I can count on in, what is for me, a season of change. My family gatherings are shrinking as my children depart the nest. I already miss my nephew, who we lost this year, and won’t be joining us for the holidays. My dad is newly placed in a nursing care facility, as his Alzheimer’s has made it impossible for him to live at home with Mom.
What I am thankful for is God’s unfailing love that penetrates all of life’s joy and sorrow. I am thankful for His continuous grace that accepts me as I am because of Jesus’ holy work. I am thankful for ancient words that are the same over centuries and anchor me to God’s heart. I am thankful that these things do not change as my life changes.

  53. I am thankful that we are very blessed even with these tough economic times…money is tight but life is good.

  60. Each year I’m always thankful for my family. That rings true especially this year. I lost 2 brothers suddenly 1 day apart in April. I think of them each day & am reminded how blessed I am by each member of my family. My father passed away 24 years ago & I’m in awe when I think how beautiful it must have been for my father and 2 brothers to be reunited in Heaven.

  64. I’m thankful for the book One Thousand Gifts, which is teaching me to be thankful for so much more than ever!

  65. I am thankful for my husband. He works so hard for our family and so that I can stay home with our children. He is such a blessing and I thank God for bringing us together!

  66. I am thankful that my husband survived a toe amputation without it being worse.
He has had bad health for a long time, he is learning to lean on the Lord to deal with his health and is growing in God each day.
I am more grateful than I can say, Thank you Lord for all you give us.

    Happy Blessed Thanksgiving to all.

  67. Thankful for my husband, my parents, my sister…who have all been a rock of support and strength to me in these past couple of years of heaviness and heartbreak. The Lord is faithful.

  68. I am thankful for food, health, my awesome family, a warm home, and my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. All good things are gifts from Him!

  69. I am so very thankful this year for friends who walk with you through the deserts and the valleys of life!! They have been so needed this year!

  70. I may be fearful, even questioning my sanity, but I am thankful to take on my first cooking of Thanksgiving dinner for my family.

  71. I love the wooden caddy, it’s very cute and rustic! I’m thankful for my savior Jesus Christ, most of all. I am also greatful that even though we moved away from family, they are only just a short ride away and that I get to see them over the holidays. I am also thankful that all of our family is healthy and happy this year.

  72. I am thankful that Gods plans are so much better than my plans. I had trouble understanding why my parents had to move 16hrsto away when I was 24 and pregnant w/ my 2nd child, but after 10 years I can see the opportunity I was given to get to know & appreciate my MIL and the health opportunities that opened up for my parents moving to a better climate. He really does always work for our benefit!

  73. I am thankful for so many things but I just walked past the bag of items my husband bought for the local food pantry. It reminds me that I am grateful that we have more than enough to share with those in need but also that I am married to a man who actually takes steps to do this.
    –SueBE

  74. I am thankful for my family, both my daughter and granddaughter, and the family God has given me at church.

  76. Thanks for the great giveaway! I am soo thankful for Jesus!! His redeeming love, His gift of life, His mercy, grace, and forgiveness. And I am thankful for the incourage ladies that write and encourage our hearts. You are all such a blessing to me!

  77. I am thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who has blessed me beyond words. I am also so thankful for my husband and my four children. Happy Thanksgiving!

  78. I am thankful for a God who gives peace even amongst the troubles this world has. Finances are very difficult right now, but even with that I have peace that passes understanding.

  79. I am thankful for JESUS..His humble arrival, His sinless, servant-leader life, His sacrifice on the cross…..and His soon coming…Oh how thankful…the blessings have been heaped up on my life to overflowing…Blessings all!

  80. I’m so thankful for God’s incredible grace and mercy. So thankful for dear, sweet friends He has brought into my life over the past few years, considering when we moved here and I became a stay at home mom, I knew no one…it was very lonely for awhile! Thankful for an incredible husband and 2 healthy, sweet children. Thankful for a wonderful mom who is always a huge help to me. Thankful for a loving extended family, a house to live in, food on the table, and clothes on my back.

  81. Thankfulness is at the core of life. This year, having now lived one full year in Uruguay, my perspective on Thanksgiving is a little different, but it’s HUGE all the same:
I’m so thankful for a Saviour who wants to trade burdens with me. I’m thankful for a husband and children who have been oh, so patient with me throughout the emotional adjustments of living in a new culture. I’m thankful for the hundreds of people who support our ministry, making it possible for us to be here as church planters. I’m thankful for wonderful neighbours who have become friends. I’m thankful that the Lord has a plan, His timing is perfect, and that I can just keep making myself available to Him to use and trust Him to work out the details.

(Thanks for (in)courage and all the women who work to encourage me and so many others!)

  82. i am so thankful for family(children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, and a sweet 91 yr old mama).during this timeof unemployment for my husband, they have been so supportive, with encouragement and prayers. they have even taken on Christmas and thanksgiving dinners this year(which i ususally have done for the past 30 or so years). thnak you, Jesus, for blessing me so!!!!

  83. Thankful for a great support team that partners with us in our ministry in Haiti and homeschooling that allows me time with my children to learn about our Lord and the world He created.

  84. I’m so very thankful this year for the joy God has restored to my brother (who is our pastor) and our entire church family, after a few years of refining fire.

  85. I am thankful for my husband and our sweet families, who are sacrificing their relaxing Thanksgiving to pack our house and move us across three states tomorrow. What amazing parents we both have!

  86. I am SO thankful for the commitment the girls of (in)courage have made to reach out and touch the lives of women. I cannot tell you how you have all blessed me personally. May God richly bless each of you this holiday season for using the gifts He has given you to His glory!

  87. Honestly, I’m thankful for this site and the posts I am reading today 🙂 I needed to get my focus back on the important things instead of the disappointments that are many… My children need me to set that example. Thanksgiving is so much bigger than our troubles here on this earth. I thank the Lord for salvation and a promise of eternity with Him, a hope and a future…

  88. I am thankful for loss of my job. It may sound very strange but God is teaching me many things through this. Trust, forgiveness and thankfulness for what I do have.

  89. Oh gosh, there isn’t room here for the answer to that question, so I’ll just sum it up and say I’m thankful for everything and everyone God has placed in my life, I am truly blessed!

  90. I’m so thankful that my husband is working and has a good job. I hear so many stories of people who are losing their jobs these days and I’m thankful that we are blessed to have an income.

  91. I am thankful for a whole year with only 2 trips to my son’s doctor’s office-for checkups! There is of course so much more and I could fill the page but that is big one for this year.

  92. I’m thankful for nights of little sleep…due to the fact that my brother arrived for a five day visit in the middle of the night! I’m thankful for my brother.

  93. Besides being incredibly thankful for Tylenol, scripture is the most life changing thing that resinates abundant THANKS LIVING.

  94. I have lots to be thankful for… a wonderfully helpful extended family, my beautiful 5 year old son, a great job, good friends, and most of all God’s love.

  95. I am thankful for this year of big changes- some good, some bad- but all have brought my family closer together and closer to the Lord!

  96. So very thankful for health and family this year, and some quiet time with my mini family on this Thanksgiving.

  97. I am so blessed as always to have my family, my faith, and my great Savior! Happy Thanksgiving, Incourage me staff!

  98. I am thankful for my salvation and for my husband and children, and for the Lord taking care of us in our lives.

  99. I am thankful for the love & blessings that God gives me everyday. I have a wonderful husband, two amazing children, a great extended family & many friends. I am especially thankful for two things this year. One – this past Monday, God brought my son through his 11th surgery that will hopefully restore his hearing. Two – I am so grateful to be spending this Thanksgiving with my husband – this time next year, he will be in Afghanistan. Counting my blessings!

  100. I am thankful for soo many things–God, Jesus dying for my sins, hubby, Iguanas to name a few.

I keep a thankful journal and post in it daily. This helps me realize all that I have. A few more things that people may not think of are brain, eyes, ears, nose, mouth–basic body parts. God has so richly blessed all of us that it can be hard to list all of the blessings one has.

My journal is over 200 items daily. I keep a main list of the larger items, if you will, and add daily to what blessed me that day!

  101. I am most grateful for my wonderful family—a husband who brings me such great joy and who supports all my ministry efforts. And–my two boys, who love the Lord and serve Him with all their hearts.

  102. It’s impossible to mention only one thing to be thankful for, so I’ll mention many! I thank God for life, health, a warm home filled with love and family, the privilege of living in the U.S., my church family, friends too numerous to count, and the blessing of serving others. Most of all I’m thankful for Jesus and His willingness to lay down His life so that I could be forgiven.

  103. I’m so thankful for our wonderful world- freedom to worship our God. and, that all my family is now OK – we almost lost one but didn’t, thanks be to God.

  104. I am thankful for realizing, while I’m sitting in my house feeling down because I’m “broke”, that I actually have a nice house to live in and all the bills are paid.

I’m thankful for realizing that although I’m VERY overweight and I need to get fit for health reasons, it means I have plenty of food and I am not starving.

I am thankful that my parents raised me TO BE THANKFUL – thankful for what I have, and to not be too worried about the things I don’t have.

  105. I am so thankful for Immanuel-God with us. I am thankful for fresh mercies daily. I am thankful for my husband and 3 little ones, and I am looking forward to a Thanksgiving spent in fellowship with friends!

  106. This sounds really crazy but I am thankful that my husband lost his job and we sold our home 3 years ago because that has moved us closer to our children and grandchildren. We would never have had the many special moments of sharing with them if he had continued in his job 500 miles away from our loved ones. The Man above always knows our needs before we do!
I love the silverware caddy. Thanks for the chance to win.
    Cheryl Sims

  107. I am thankful to have a beautiful and seriously awesome daughter. And I’m not just saying that because I’m her mom 🙂

  108. I’m thankful for God. Without Him, I have no idea where I would be today. So glad He is my Dad!!

  109. I have become very thankful for the brave and amazing women who share stories of their imperfect lives and God’s grace on this (in)courage website, which impacts me and encourages me on a daily basis. Thanks to you all!

  110. I am thankful today for hope in Jesus, and the rest being gravy! I am thankful to be off work early, home to pack, and then travel with the man I love. I am thankful for joy through ALL of today 🙂

  111. I’m thankful for salvation in Jesus, for my family, my home, all the bountiful and undeserved blessings God continually pours out on me, and His grace to forgive me when I all too often grumble about minor things!
And I love the caddy-I almost ordered it yesterday when I saw the big sale, but trying to avoid purchases that are not absolute necessities right now…after reading your post, I was reconsidering and now they are sold out 🙁 so I’d be especially thankful to win one!

  112. I am most thankful for the gift of my salvation through the spilt blood of Jesus Christ, because material goods and relationships with loved ones take on a much more special meaning.

  113. I am so thankful that the Lord has blessed me so much this year. From my new little niece, to my husband being promoted, and a new house! It’s been quite a wonderful year!

  114. I am thankful that even though my husband and I have both lost our jobs, we are having marriage problems and I am now pregnant with an unexpected (to us) & very sick, that I still have faith that God is good and hope in Him that He will not fail.

  115. So thankful for my supportive parents and church family who have loved me during a very difficult season…they will never know how much their encouraging words and love mean to me on a daily basis!!!

  116. This week I am thankful for hope and a fresh perspective. I have had some challenging moments lately in my homeschooling journey. My 12 year old and I are adjusting to lots of new things that jr high brings, one of which is some harder classes with higher level content and more responsibilities. After pouring my heart out to my husband, he offered some valuable insight and very practical advice and then God put me together with a new friend who casually mentioned in conversation how her daughter uses the computer to do most of her school work. So, this week, my daughter did her science study guide on a word document and it was all smiles and happy hearts over here. Where before I was despairing a little about not knowing how to do this job of teaching my kids, God gave me a simple fix and peace in my heart. I am so thankful!!

  117. I LOVE this caddy! Even more, all the fun ideas to display it during the “in-between” times. My husband and I enjoy inviting others and creating a welcome atmosphere. My favorite aspect to watch is when others help themselves to items in my kitchen. We feel that our home is your home. It’s not ours anyway, we’re simply here to manage our blessings. Thanks for all that you’re doing to spread God’s word throughout our homes!

  118. I am thankful that we still have a house to live in and a WONDERFUL family to share it with!

  119. I am thankful for my mom – who this time last year was re-learning how to walk after a spinal cord injury. What a difference a year makes – she is walking with a cane this Thanksgiving!

  120. This season I am so grateful for my newfound relationship with Jesus. He called for me in a dark hour. My life has been transformed. I am a better wife, mother, friend…a better me. I give all of the glory to God.
    Thank you.
    Thank you.
    Thank you.

  121. I am Thankful for waking up this morning, healthy and in a home filled with people I love and who love me back. Knowing today on this beautiful Thanksgiving day we will create more memories together.
    -Colleen G.

  122. Happy Thanksgiving…
Thankful for Faith – Family – Friends – Fellowship – Food
Sooo thankful for the POWER of PRAYER!
    GOD BLESS!

  123. I am so thankful for my Heavenly Father and for Him keeping our earthly family grounded in Him!

  124. I’m thankful for a more positive outlook on life that God has given me over the past year. I am so blessed with a wonderful family, a great home, friends, financial stability, and so much more, & yet I tended to always find the faults, always see the glass half empty. God has really helped me change my heart attitude so that I can now see all the gifts He has given me & appreciate them, & for that I am so grateful because it has filled my life with so much more joy than I used to have.

  125. I am thankful for my husband, who has really stepped up to the plate this week and helped me be more grateful for all that I have and enjoy.

  126. I am very thankful that the Lord has given me another beautiful day with my family & friends! God Bless us all

  127. This week, I am very thankful for wonderful in-laws who always welcome me into their home and even cook my favorites for Thanksgiving dinner.

  128. I am thankful for all the important things – Jesus, family, friends, life, health, home, etc.
On the lighter side, I am thankful for Dayspring shopping – except the wooden caddy is sold out. 🙁

  129. I am thankful for a stronger sense of family…especially among my college age kids. Thankful for laughter until you cry and enjoying just being together!

  130. I’m thankful for so many blessings – dear sisters in Christ, a husband who loves God and is a good provider, and our beautiful home. And much more. But I’m mostly thankful for the unfailing love of God.

  131. I have been thinking this week that I am so thankful for my basic 5 senses. They help me to enjoy all of my other blessings to the fullest! (p.s. I’m also thankful for the opportunity to possibly win a caddy. I tried to buy one and they are all gone!)

  132. I am thankful that in change, He remains. As things change in our lives we can rest in peace, knowing HE is faithful and will take us through it.

  133. I am so grateful to be exactly where God has placed me, with exactly the blessings that God has chosen to lavish upon me.

  134. I am so thankful for my health this year…something I think so many of us take for granted. 🙂

  135. I am thankful for a few things right this moment. That my son is getting the care he needs in the hospital right now. For the super wonderful nurses who have been such a blessing all day and night, for my wonderful In-Laws who are caring for our other children while we are here with our youngest son. To know they are being cared for so well eases my mind to focus on getting him back to health so we can all be reunited. What a blessing my family and friends are…

  136. I am thankful that I wake up every morning with a chance to do things differently! Different from the day before. Growing into the women Christ desires me to be is a journey and so I get do overs! Praise Jesus, with Him we don’t remain the same!

  138. I am thankful to God for all the good things in my life..because they are from him.
My family , children and grandchildren. I lost my husband 12 years ago and was so depressed. My faith in God brought me through all the sadness and fears. God is always good and loving. I am blessed!
