A Sunday Scripture

Tags:  Scripture

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?

Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.

Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.

Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.

Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” ~Jesus.

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength.” Isaiah 40:28-31

Emily, I get more out of reading about Jesus and His capacity to understand our daily challenges, in your “blog” than I ever have in any organized religion. Thank you for putting His words into context so that I can do my best to incorporate them into my days. You have my sincere gratitude.

Thank you so much for this today. My husband and I had a nice discussion and read more in our bible on this verse.

A song I grew up singing. – His yoke is easy, His burden light. I’ve found it so. I’ve found it so. He leadeth me by day and by night, where peaceful waters flow. Amen

This verse is appropriate to me as I need to just find the peace and freedom that Jesus offers when I am knotted up inside and need some rest. The photo that accompanies this verse is so soothing as well. I feel the rhythm of the ocean brings relaxation and spiritual awareness.
