Seven: The Details + Schedule

Tags:  Book Club

Yay! We are so, so excited to read this life-changing book with y’all. You probably watched our intro video before hopping over to this post. Take one more minute and check out this introductory video before we get into the study plan:

What to Expect

If you are new to Bloom, welcome! We are so glad that you are here. We will be covering one chapter each week with a video study featuring author, Jen Hatmaker. You are going to love her!

In additional to weekly videos, we will be featuring a guest post along with each chapter! All weekly chapter videos will be on Mondays, with guest posts to follow on Wednesdays. The content will always be available here on the Bloom page, so feel free to watch the videos at any time if the days are not convenient for you.

And if you would like to stay up to date on when new chapter studies become available, you can now sign up for exclusive emails from Bloom! You can sign up here if you would like to receive emails when new Bloom posts are available. This is separate from the (in)courage subscription list and you will only receive emails when new posts are available on Bloom.

We also invite you to join us on our Bloom Facebook Page to interact with other readers, as well as in the comments of each post!

Featuring Guest Posts

If you have already read Seven and a particular chapter spoke to you we want to know about it! We are accepting guest submissions on each chapter topic and will feature one submission per chapter.

Did month two of Seven encourage you to take a second look at your wardrobe? Or maybe month six encouraged you to start recycling? We’d love for you to submit your Guest Post here and tell us about it. Just submit your post by Friday, August 24th. If you aren’t able to write a post in time to meet the deadline but are interested in sharing about a particular month, just shoot us an email and let us know.   Since we won’t be able to feature every submitted post, we’ll offer a link-up with each Guest Post for you to share your story there.

Buy a Book, Give a Book — and Get Free Shipping!

Right now on DaySpring.com, you can purchase a copy of Seven for $10.

We try our best to make it possible for everyone to participate in the Bloom study, regardless of financial ability to purchase a book. If your financial situation is difficult and you are unable to purchase a book, you can request a free copy this Wednesday through Friday. We ask that you only request a copy if you truly can’t afford the book and are willing to participate in the study. We have a limited amount to give away and that will depend on how many sponsored books are purchased.

This is where we could use your help. If you are able to purchase a book for someone in need, DaySpring has set up a “Sponsored Book” option for you.

And when you purchase a copy for yourself as well as a Sponsored Book you can receive free shipping with code BLOOMBOOK! This code is valid on any two book purchase, so it will work if you’d like to purchase two books for yourself or two sponsored books. DaySpring will take care of delivering the sponsored book to a reader in need.

We are so thankful for DaySpring as well as B&H Publishing Group for providing copies of Seven for those requesting a free copy. We are also SO thankful for each of you– for stepping in and caring for your fellow Bloom sisters by purchasing a sponsored copy. This need would not be met without you!

If you have any questions about the sponsored program, you can visit the FAQ page found here.

I am so excited about this. I am reading this book right now. I ordered it and received it last week. And, in the spirit of the book, I’m giving it away on my blog this week! 7 is awesome and I love the way it shapes my thinking and gives me a fresh dose of perspective. Can’t wait for the study.

I’m truly excited about this book, I hope to be able to take part this time, last time all the sponsered copies went before I had a chance, I really think this could help with my reaction to the cutting back I’ve had to do in the last year from financial struggles.

Oh, I’m so excited about this.
I read 7 last month and I’m reading Interrupted currently.

As a food blogger, the food chapter was particularly interesting to me. In the past I’ve participated in church and independently with friends in different trials for different reasons. For example, one person wanted to see how tasty they could make food for $1 a day. I went the bland route – sticking with the same food each day – again at $1/day. Another wanted to see how full he could feel using what food is available for only $1/day. Each of us had different experiences. Each of us had different goals and learned different things.

Walking with Jen through 7 was a joy. Her humor makes my sides hurt. Her words sometimes make my heart and head hurt. I can’t wait to read it again with all of you.

Blessings,
~ Dana

I just said to my hubby last night that we should read this as a family. So excited that we’ll have this additional way to work through this book. :)

I just read this and LOVED IT (of course.) I loved her real person voice, her honesty and since we already live in this direction, it was just AWESOME. I will probably be rereading alongside y’all. FABULOUS!

Exciting! I’ll see if I can rally some guest posts from the gals who did “Summer of 7″ with me. It was a similar challenge for only a week each, where we all posted to a blog hop. What an amazing book and life changing journey this has been for me and all of the folks who participated. (We have a FB group-Summer of 7 Participants if anyone cares to join and check out some of our posts. )

Be (in)couraged. I am giving away two copies at my blog on Monday, August 20th. I have gotten a lot of responses. Seems excess in our lives is quite a hot topic. We all seem to want freedom from it! Thank you for this opportunity to unite and fight the epidemic of excess together. ~ jana

So excited your doing this book! I purchased it kindle a few months ago just before we moved and hadn’t gotten back to reading it just yet. God has brought it to me at just the right time when I am seeing our excess and our future goals of doing for Him and how we can get there! A friend mentioned she was reading it too. I’m thankful to do this with others!

Goodness gracious. I am so excited about this book! My husband and I recently went to a bed in breakfast out in the country. We are new parents and this was our first night alone away from the baby. When we arrived at the Inn we were blown away by its beauty! There was a large garden in the back where they grew all of their fruits and vegetables. Then down a long dirt road there was a little cabin for us to stay at. It was so quaint and peaceful. What amazed me the most about this bed and breakfast was their passion for protecting the environment and supporting their local farms. As a result the quality of everything from their food to their soap was amazing. I left feeling refreshed and encouraged to do the same for my family! I think this book will help me put everything in the right perspective. I’m going to start reading it tonight!

I read the book in 24 hours (well, actually less with sleep and all…) about a week ago. I’m really feeling the winds of change in my life. I’m looking forward to reading the book again and discussing it!
