All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,
“God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble.”
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:5-6

Oh yes, on this beautiful Sabbath morning! And the picture? Sublime.
It’s always about what He longs to speak deeply into our hearts …

I am in between leading worship and have just sung with our Sunday School, and I found this and it was perfect. Before Sunday School started, I was out in the parking lot with two parents who were fighting over custody issues – with their oldest in our nursery class and the youngest – 2 years old in his car seat covering his ears. We finally got the little one in to our nursery class – but the pain, hurt and anger between the parents and washing over these little ones – reminds me that the source of all comfort and grace is from God and I need to show that as I go to lead our second service!
thanks for the picture and message!

Oh Toni – what a heart breaker. Thinking of you and that family today. Praying peace over those kids.

I love the thought of casting off anxiety and pride while clothing ourselves with Him and His humility.
And Toni, that whole scenario breaks my heart. 🙁

Anxiety can so overtake us that we lose sight of all else–everything is skewed. When I went through a period of extreme anxiety, this verse meant so much to me. I also had a picture of the beach and the Gulf that, together with Scripture, gave me such blessed peace.
Thank God you were there, Toni, to rescue the children & give them an oasis in the midst of that storm.

This scripture has gotten me through a lot of hard times! Still timely. Beautiful picture!!
We live in a fallen world marred by sin and the devil. Praise God for the promise of eternity and eternal life!
Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor pain. All of that has gone forever.”

Just worked on this scripture today for the kids’ new weekly verse. We’ve been doing the topic of respect and this verse came up. But I think verse 6 is the one meant for me. Been struggling to let “it” go completely and not take it back. And the crazy thing is, life is pretty calm right now. But the daily grind can sometimes be as depleting as when major issues are involved. Seems He has sent me another reminder that He is, in fact, aware of everything that burdens me and causes me to be anxious 🙂

So needed this today. I’m feeling like I’m fighting a losing battle with my husband. He’s been unfaithful many times over the last 4 or 5 years and I just found out today that is “talking” to some girl and was planning on meeting up with her tomorrow to physically cross the line. I came here and read this and on the way home from an errand today I heard Third Day’s I Need a Miracle, for the first time. I hear God speaking to me but it doesn’t make the hurt or the hardness of the situation go away. I’ll be on my knees tonight!

Wonderful scripture. Loved the picture!
It is true that we should cast ALL cares on Him who knows best for our lives!

What a timely verse! I am being induced tomorrow with our first child, and I began feeling anxious today. God knew her birth day & delivery details before the creation of the world. What peace that brings. Hope I can focus on that.

Oh Lucy – blessings on you and that sweet new baby today. What a gorgeous, miraculous way to start a new week! Cheering for you over here!

Anxiety is a sign our focus is on man and not God – God is always working for our good. Praise Him when anxiety arises, peace is sure to come. Hebrews 10:35-36 ~ So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

It is so hard, I am in a situation in which I need to give grace once again, but they don;t even know they need it. They are oblivious to my feelings. Please pray for this situation and that it can , with God’s help be resolved how HE want’s it to be and that I can still extend that grace.
