We are beyond excited to kick off this new (in)RL season with each of you. Today, we would like to remind you to take part in one our our (in)RL videos! If you have a story to share about how community has affected your life, we want to hear about it. Read below for more information!

{If you are new to (in)RL, you can click on over here to learn more.}

You may remember how last year the Rubber Band Gang shared their story as part of (in)RL. They were the winning submission for our (in)RL community video content. Through heartaches and life changes, this group of friends learned how to support and love one another through the hard times that life throws our way. We love how this video shares what community truly means to them.

We want to do that again, and invite you to be a part of one of our (in)RL videos! So watch the video above and if inspiration strikes, we hope you’ll participate in our (in)RL community video contest!

Our theme for (in)RL 2013 is “The Challenge to Stay.” Last year we explored the nitty gritty of community. This year we’re taking a closer look at what it takes to stay rooted in community when sometimes just walking away would be so much easier and tons more convenient. We’d love to hear your stories. How have friendships kept you rooted through marriages, challenging parenting, life changes, you name it when you would otherwise have been tempted to just cut and run.

Here’s the scoop on the video submissions:

  • Focus on Community: We would like for you to share the role that community has played in your life. How it’s kept you sane and rooted and beloved. No mater how that looks. We want to hear it.
  • Group or Individual submissions welcome: We’re really leaving the content of the video up to you. We want you to get creative and just be yourself! And grab a friend or two and make it a group effort {it is all about community, after all!}.
  • 10-15 Minutes: Video submission should be 10-15 minutes long.
  • Amateurs Welcome: This does not need to be done with a professional camera. We’re looking for real, genuine footage here, using your regular camcorder or video recording feature on your camera will work just fine {no video submissions from a camera phone, please}.
  • Script, Shoot, Edit, Submit: We’re looking for finished, polished submissions. But don’t stress– we’ll be sure and add finishing touches to your video. Your work on our webcast – how cool would that be!
  • Deadline: What do you think? Are you interested? Deadline for all submissions is Friday, March 29th. A team at (in)courage and DaySpring will sort through the submissions and choose one to be a part of the (in)RL webcasts.
  • Submit your Entry: Please upload your submission to Vimeo and then fill out this (in)RL Video Submission Agreement Form. Here you’ll be able to insert a link to your entry on Vimeo.
  • Win! The winning selection – in addition to having your video join the (in)RL line up – will win a $250 cash prize and a $250 store credit shopping spree to DaySpring.com. Winners will be chosen based on creativity, originality, and an expression of community that resonates with the heart of (in)courage and the hope of (in)RL.
  • Announcing the Winner! The winner of the video submission contest will be announced on Friday, April 5th.

If you are even just thinking about participating and filming a submission, just click on over and fill out this form so we can check in with you every now and then to see if we can help. We love this (in)courage community so very much. And we are thrilled for you to share what community means to you!

And don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions at all about the video contest.

With lots of love,
the (in)courage team
