Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your strength.
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.
Impress them on your children.
Talk about them when you sit at home
and when you walk along the road,
when you lie down and when you get up.
Deuteronomy 6:4-7

My kids, jokingly, used to call me “Bible Lady” because I would quote scripture to them…I can testify that those precious precepts spoken have not returned void.

And he did that, my dad did … and still does. I am honoring him today with a heart laced with gratitude …

Thank You, Jesus!

So grateful for my father, who did this while he was alive. And so grateful today for the Father who has reached out to rescue those whose earthly fathers did not. His name be praised.

Happy Father’s day to all Dads out there!!
Loved the picture! I like the idea of living out in open barrenness–just land surrounding you and no neighbors for a few miles. That would be my dream!!
My pastor spoke a great sermon today. It was on Luke 11:11-13–where Jesus asks “fathers if your son asks for fish would you give him a snake instead? If you who are evil know how to give good gifts how much more will the Father in Heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” He talked about instilling good moral and Christian virtues in your children. Talk to them about their troubles and what is seen in this world today–instill in them the love of God and the Bible.
God Bless!!!

I love these verses!
A while ago I wrote a poem called “The Next Generation” based off of this verse and a few other verses for parents.
