  1. I’m looking forward to having the time to read along during this summer book club. I would start and not be able to finish during the school year. And the topic is fabulous!

  2. I’m a big fan of cooking, so any new recipes are always welcomed 🙂 Plus, I just love Bloom Book Club, so anything that’s on the reading list is fantastic.

  3. I am most looking forward to sitting down and joining Shauna, Angie, Jessica, and Robin in the privacy of their home.

I have been involved with other Bloom Books and even though it is by video and the web I feel close to all of the authors and facilitators. You have all been transparent and real and that is so powerful for me as relationships are my mainstay … I love you all and am looking forward to more from you Angie and Jessica and meeting you Shauna and Robin.

    Praying now:

“that your love, Angie, Jessica, Robin and Shauna, may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that come through Jesus Christ-to the glory and praise of God … ” Philippians 1:9-10
    Blessings, Beth

  4. I have done almost all of the bloom book club books and this one didn’t look like it would interest me….but yesterday I read some more reviews and now I am excited to read along! Thanks Angie and Jessica for taking the time to do this- LOVE IT!

  5. I’d love to join you in this study. I’ve been looking for a community to share these kinds of books with. 😀

    Thanks!

  7. I have to say that I am most looking forward to the opportunity to share and meet with y’all around our virtual table as we go through the book 🙂
    Megan

  8. I lead a women’s online book club and this would be a wonderful addition! Thanks for a chance to participate in yours and the wonderful chance at winning a copy!

  9. I m so excited to do another book study with y’all! I can’t wait to read this book and see all the wonderful recipes. 🙂

  10. I’m looking forward to reading this book! It’s been on my to read list for a while! This is also the first Bloom book I’ve been able to participate in–looking forward to it all 🙂

  11. I’m looking forward to sitting down (with an ahhhhh!) on my comfy bed and soaking in community. It recharges my batteries so I can continue to pour into my 4 children. Can’t wait!

  12. I have read along with all your books and I look forward to this one. Especially since I have more time to enjoy it during the summer break. I can’t wait see all the recipes!

  13. Looking forward to the growth from this study and the fun to go along with it.

  14. So excited! I have read great things about this book, and couldn’t wait for y’all to start reading it! It was my “gift to myself” book that I bought on the last day of the school year this year, and I have loved getting lost in it daily this week. I, personally, can’t wait to try all of the recipes I have read about so far, and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that they are healthful, too! Looking forward to another great Bloom session!!

  15. Honestly, the girl time!! 😉 It’s nice to go to the computer during my little girl’s nap time and relax and see what all of you ladies have to say! Have always loved the videos.

  16. I enjoy cooking at home but get nervous doing it for guests. I’m hoping to find simple ways of sharing food and conversation, even with those who are much more fussy with food choices. How to please them as well?

  17. Shauna’s books have been so meaningful to me in my journey with God. I am thrilled she will be sharing in this forum! Love Bloom.

  18. Would love to join and have some structure to my reading! I tend to get started and then start another book (nd then another) and don’t finish any….especially in the summer. Girl time would be awesome also!

  19. I am most looking forward to this online book club “coming to life” through videos and recipes. Just received my copy from DaySpring and after flipping through the pages, I am really excited for the “Real Simple Cassoulet” on pg 125. I actually found a similar recipe that is much more complicated and had been hesitant to try it. Love that you adapted it to be gluten free and included the make ahead instructions. Looking forward to this study with much excitement!

  20. I look forward mostly to getting back into the habit of reading. I haven’t read anything in several years since the tiniest babe was born (he’s 2 already!). I’m looking forward to diving in, and engaging with the women here! I hope I win because I cannot afford the book just yet and it’d be just the thing to help me out between pay days until I can buy it!

  21. I’m most looking forward to learning new ways to celebrate friends around my table.

  22. Looking forward to getting some time to read and rejoin the Bloom ladies after a recent job change that has given me more flexibility and balance. The topic is great too; time around the table is something hubby and I established when we were married but jobs have made family meals difficult. Would love some inspiration on how to make the meals we do have together special ones!

  23. I am looking forward to reading the book with the club but most of all I am excited about the cooking segments. It sounds interesting!

  24. This is my first Bloom Book Club. I am looking forward to inspiration in community!

  25. just plain looking forward to reading the book. I have loved her other two, I mean LOVED! and I’ve also always wished there were recipes – so I’m just giddy:)

  26. I savored this book and would love to see Shauna cook the recipes that intimidate me a little bit: her risotto, steak au poivre and the dark chocolate sea salted caramel. But every recipe is so wonderful, I would love to see her make any of them!

  27. I have just made it to ‘enough’. I have loved every bit of this book so far. I am not very social but I love to cook and this has really stirred a desire within to discover some way to invite some girl-friends into my home for a meal. My house in tiny and cramped with 5 of us living here, but my soul longs for some real friendship. My family and I do participate in a Bible Study group that meets in a friend’s home. We eat there every Wednesday as we study. I can’t wait to try a few of these recipes on our group. And this weekend we’re celebrating Father’s Day, my mom’s birthday and my brother’s and I am planning on bringing blue-berry crisp and a salad with homemade vinaigrette dressing. Also I have shared this multiple ways on facebook and have had a few ladies voice their desire to experience this meeting together of friends across a table in their homes. I just can’t express how much this book has meant to me and I’m not even out of Section One 🙂 I hope you guys end up cooking the Risotto in at least one of your videos! I’ve never had it, but the way she describes it…. lovely!

  28. I’m so excited to start this study! I’ve been wanting to read this book, and now I get to read it alongside so many amazing women! I’m most excited that our inRL group in Minnesota is planning to discuss the book and gather around the table together this summer — what a perfect opportunity to get together in real life. 🙂

  29. I haven’t ordered my book yet, needing to wait until “pay day”. My husband is on disability and we have been just in survival mode taking care of his injuries from our car crash and feeding our 4 girls. So, my personal purchases wait of course!! Excited at the chance to win a copy since I missed the boat on the sponsored ones!
I have only done two other online studies thru proverbs 31 and am excited to try one with a different format. Loved your video and blog. And the book sounds wonderful, I always believed in meals together as much as possible! Thanks so much for the opportunity!

  30. Risotto or the steak would be wonderful to watch. I’d like to see what the finished product should look like. Thanks!

  31. I am looking forward to the cooking videos and I always love Angie and Jess on the couch! … And of course the content of the book!

  38. Just looking forward to all this club has to offer. I love to read and be inspired by others who are on the same road of life that I am on. It makes you feel like you aren’t alone, and you realize Jesus is at work in us all.

  39. I’ve been worried this book study won’t fit into my summer schedule, but I just keep hearing about it and seeing blurbs about this book…It maybe is meant to be! Winning the book would seal the deal! Happy summer!

  43. I haven’t read the book as yet, but look forward to it! Can’t wait to see the recipes made on video. Thanks for all your encouragement!

  44. This is such a great topic! I believe the practice of having people to your home for a meal is often lost in our busy society. It is such a shame we don’t take the time to get to know each other and minister to others anymore. I hope this book will inspire many to start again!

  45. I’m looking forward to seeing what all the hooplah is over this book. I’m not a “foodie” but I DO love to eat. I’m interested to see if I end up really enjoying the book.

  46. I just finished the book last night ~ I loved it all!! I can’t decide which recipe I would like to make first. I may have to just reread the book!!

  47. I am looking forward to this book club because not only am I a huge fan of Shauna Niequist’s writing, but I also just took over the cooking responsibilities in our house after 10 years of having my husband do it. He now has a job that often takes him away in the evenings, so I am scrambling for good eats. And we love community and the idea of sharing “bread and wine” with our friends and neighbors.

  48. Have never participated in a summer read before with a group and would love to. And I would love to find new recipes to share with others.

  49. I love new recipes and I love to read – what better combination could I hope for?? I would also LOVE that cake plate – how beautiful!

  50. I have never participated in your book studies, just watched from afar. This one is right up my alley as I love to feed people. I am part of a start-up mission church and am always looking for ways to build community. Food and book study are a couple of ways we are looking to reach out to the community this fall. I would love to participate so that we could repeat this in our church this fall.

  51. I lost my sweetheart on May 21st. I need to find ways to occupy my heart and mind. I am strong in the faith and know that God has plans that I can not understand. Billy left me and our four teenagers too soon. There is something about girlfriends that help a person heal. I hope this community with the flexible schedule is a place to rest during this season. faithfully, Celeste

  52. This books looks like it will be outside of my typical read and I am looking forward to it!

  53. I am so excited about this book – I love to cook, and my husband and I have been talking about having families over for meals in our home more often! This is just what I need right now!

  54. I have already purchased two books, but would love to gift a friend with this free book. Her ministry is called “Come to the Table” so it would be perfect.

  55. i like books with recipes in them, but that aren.t actual cookbooks. so this books is interesting for that reason as well

  56. I am looking forward to some structured biblical bonding time with some great women, and adopting some great new recipes and new tips!

Happy and excited to join in!

  62. I’ve never been part of a book club before and am so excited to doing this with my daughter. Getting to know other Christian women from all over the country will be such a blessing too.

  63. I’ve never been part of a book club before and am so excited to doing this with my daughter. Getting to know other women from all over the country will be such a blessing too.

  64. I love the idea of taking time with friends and family around the table. I am looking forward to learning more from this. Since I haven’t heard of this book before it should be very enjoyable! :O)

  65. I have had our local library order a few copies of Bread & Wine, but I haven’t gotten it yet and I’m getting impatient!! I am a huge fan of book clubs–did my own for a number of years and it was a blast!
    Sarah M

  66. I am a missionary sister serving with my husband and 4 kids in west Africa. I’m really looking forward to this book study as cooking, hospitality, eating, and being in Gods Word are some of my most favorite things. Plus godly community isn’t easy to come by living cross culturally. Thank you for this opportunity!

  67. This would be my first experience with your (or any online) book club. I’m interested in seeing how this will work and the subject matter sounds interesting.

  68. After having recent surgery on my arm, I am looking forward to the book club. It will give me a chance to focus on the positive aspects of relaxing with a good book while recovering from surgery.

  69. I love the concept of this book…. I am looking forward to reading it, embracing it….and enjoying a few meals together with my girls!

  70. I ordered the book on my e-reader as soon as I saw the announcement and have been reading a section every few days. I have enjoyed what I have read so far and love the writing. I only allow myself to read one section to make it last longer. I am eager to have the opportunity to share what I am reading with others.

  71. My hubby and I recently moved to a new town. A few weeks ago, I was telling him how I was craving community, but wasn’t exactly sure how to get it in this new place. Seriously, days later, I saw the post for Bread and Wine. I watched the video and was brought to tears! It was as if the book was written for me! 🙂 I’m so looking forward to sharing this book with the (in)courage community, but also about reaching out to those in our new town. Thank you, thank you!

  72. Cooking and reading are two of my greatest passions! I look forward to getting to enjoy the two with other ladies!

  73. I love to read & I love to eat! :-). I always enjoy trying new recipes (esp over the summer- I am a teacher do plenty of time to try out new ideas). I think it will be great to share & discuss on the idea of community. I am trying to start a women’s book club at my church- so this would be great to have as a choice! Praying for you all.

  74. I am really looking forward to reading this. I downloaded a sample chapter and loved it. I can’t wait to try the recipes.

  75. I hope to be inspired to invite others into our home again to share meals. Work schedules and family obligations have gotten us out of the habit.

  76. I can’t wait! I have had this on my Wishful Reading list for months and just hadn’t gotten to it! I haven’t read anything ‘fun’ – so I bought a few Kindle books planning for some summer reading time and the next day I saw that this book (which I had just purchased the Kindle version) would be the Bloom book – when I bought it, I thought – this feels like a book to do with community but my small group breaks up over summer! I am thinking I will do it ‘here’ – with Bloom – and possibly again in the Fall when my group starts up again! (Oh – and I LOVE that cake plate… I have a couple of cups from that series and refuse to drink my tea or coffee from anything else now!)
    ~K~

  77. After reading what this book is about, I’m very intrigued to read it. I do love to cook (even though I don’t get to do so as much sometimes) and this book sounds amazing 🙂

  78. My favorite thing about Bloom is the community! I love getting to “talk” to everyone about the books and what we learn from them. It is an amazing gift.

  79. This is my very first book club experience. I have always loved to read and cook, what great way to join together as friends. I most look forward to getting to know new friends and have a community to draw strength from through the good and bad times in this life.

  80. I am looking forward to finding new recipes! The best part about these recipes is that they will have meaning, love and depth in them… which will in turn make the cooking & baking of them feel like a blessed time.

  81. Just started reading this book – SO REFRESHING!!! We have some couples we do “dinner clubs” with where we feast on wonderful food, drink wine and refresh with talk of Jesus and prayer. This book is going to be a wonderful addition to the parties! 😉

  82. I would love to read this book. It sounds so wonderful. All of your book clubs have been great. Thank you for all of your time and energy for doing these!

  83. The title & cover of this book caught my eye. Then watching the video has peeked my interest even more. This is different than my usual reads. Excited. Thanks for the chance to win, too.

  84. I am a hesitant hostess, only bringing myself to rise to the occasion on birthdays & holidays. I would love some ideas and motivation to boost my confidence for entertaining at other times.

  85. I’m excited to read Bread & Wine because recently my husband & I have recently been blessed to open our home to others around the dining room table. I’m very interested in making the most of this time for everyone.

  86. I am so much looking forward to this book club read. I have enjoyed many of your others and this one sounds just perfect, although I was reluctant because of the wine part, and I do not consume alcohol. I live in a new (to me) community and some recipes would be a perfect way to get to know my neighbors!
    Lisa

  87. Most looking forward to yummy recipes, to the encouragement of delving into a good read with some sisters in this online format, and to the video sessions with Shauna, Angie & Jessica!

  88. Sounds like a light-hearted topic just in time for the summer so I look forward to following along:)

  89. I am looking forward to the good conversation that I know is coming. I always find such thoughtful, fun company during the book clubs here. 🙂

  90. Summer is a season to relax and enjoy God’s blessings like being at the ocean or a cool night listening to the crickets. This summer book club just heightens those activities.

  91. Well, honestly, it’s really nice to have something to look forward to again! Since February I have been in the toughest season of my life! (In)Courage has been with me through it daily in my inbox. Some days the words have brought me great hope, love, understanding and honestly, other days I just didn’t want to hear it. So far I’ve lost a baby, my father and then my brother three weeks later. I know God must be teaching me a great bit about loss and grief; and I also know he will follow it with lessens in restoration, rebuilding, strength and perhaps even revealing greater depths of love than I’ve ever known. I see this book club as the beginning (I hope) of the next season in my life full of love, friendship and fellowship. I have learned to focus on my blessings – though at times its a struggle or takes more effort and I have also learned how supported, blessed and loved I am by my friends, family and even strangers. I want to honor that and I want to “re-pay” them through conversation, closeness and a wonderful meal. I’m hoping that I will learn and become more versed at creating and preparing a space of togetherness, love, and the warmth of a warm fragrant kitchen.

  92. In looking forward to the encouragement to open my house up more and enjoy the people around me more. Looking forward to the girl time discussion.

  93. I’m intersted to see what this book selection is all about. Love Jessica and Angie and all that they do. Just to “hang out” with them is a treat.

  94. I’ve loved all the books so looking forward to this one too!! Hoping it will help me embrace fellowship with others. My mom was always so good at this, but my type A personality gets in the way so often.

  95. I have done a few of the Bloom book club books and have always taken away so much from them!! I am so excited and looking forward to reading this book and watching the videos along the way. I love the concept of finding God at the table. I enjoy hosting our family dinners and I am always in need of a few new recipes:)

  96. I love to cook… I love to read… it’s as simple as that! When you add in a pinch of joy and center it on gracefulness, it can’t be beat 🙂 I’m having a hard time waiting for the start!

  97. I’ve heard so many great things about this book! I love to cook so I’m excited to try out the recipes on friends and family as well as share the book with them.

  98. Excited about themes of hospitality & community – heard so many good things! Would love to give a copy as a gift.

  99. I am looking forward to the recipes and just the overall theme of the book. I love hostessing and to have a Godly perspective towards it will be so much fun.

  106. Hospitality has been on my heart for the last 6 months. With 4 kids 6 and under, I want {need} fellowship and need to just realize that the “mess” is just a part of my beautiful life.

  107. I look forward to sharing this book with all of you at the big virtual table & with a group of women in my home.

  108. Having read the book and savored every page, every recipe, every word, I’m hoping you’ll share the Risotto recipe. It sounds fabulously simple and encourages us to just ‘take the time’ and ‘not rush it’. Like life, right?

  109. I am so looking forward to this summer book club!! This will be special because I have asked a friend to join me ( well, us) in this book club and she said Yes! This is someone that I have been witnessing too and I hope that this will open the doors more. We will be cooking some of the recipes right along with you! Cannot wait!!!

  110. I love reading and love receiving new recommendations for books. And I’ve been looking for new recipes to try. Thanks for the giveaway!

  111. I’m looking forward to reading the book! I’ve seen some awesome quotes from it.

  112. I can’t wait to learn some delicious recipes and learn more about how to build community around a table. I read Jen Hatmaker’s “7” with y’all so I’m excited to do another one! Thanks for the giveaway!

  113. This will be the first book club for me, and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve met some amazing women through (in)courage connections and am looking forward to finding some new friends with more things in common. This book speaks so much to things I love: community, cooking, the building of friendships – I’ve already recommended it and given a copy away! The recipes are an added bonus. I’ve never mastered risotto and would love to see that made. And the white bean soup looks amazing. Bacon-wrapped dates are probably too easy, but still, another fun favorite. Can’t wait!

  114. I have never participated in a book club, but am an avid reader! I am looking forward to the fellowship and encouragement!

  115. I am so excited to read this along with my book club this summer! We love reading together and making our community stronger with each book.

  116. I am looking forward to reading in a community and having people to share that love with. Plus, I like to try new recipes, so am looking forward to that too.

  117. I’m most looking forward to reading in community again. I’ve enjoyed previous Bloom selections and look forward to this one!

  118. so looking forward to my first community group study with (in)RL! This book is perfect timing as I’ve really felt a strong conviction regarding hospitality and the enjoyment of life and fellowship with friends.

  120. I am looking forward to reading with less stress due to summer vacation- would love to win!! THANKS

  121. Looking forward to reading and following along with others – have so enjoyed all previous bloom books and Angie and Jessica make the videos so much fun…love the idea of this book and bringing people around the table … We are empty nesters and kids live too far away to pop over for a meal…we have to schedule all our visits with each of my three kids and families..who happen to be shift workers, making it even more difficult…this book I’m hoping will give me incentive and ideas…want to start inviting neighbours over for meals too!

  122. I’m looking forward to the chance to read alongside new friends and to learn about making my family’s table a sacred space–I always love new recipes too!

    grateful-
    Ann Power

  126. I keep hearing good things about this book all over the different blogs I read, so I’d really love to read it, and follow along with the study. And the recipes will be a big plus!!

  127. Looking forward to gaining more hospitality inspiration. I love to have people in my home…but sometimes there is still a fear in taking that risk…and then wondering if the community and fellowship was really edifying after all is said and done. 🙂

  128. I am really looking forward to the weekly videos. It’s always great to see the leaders/author interactions and hear others perspectives and thoughts from the book.

  132. I’ve never done a Bloom book club thing, and I was too late in asking for the ebook version, as I am in Canada. I will try to find the book, but I doubt very much that my library will have it. I would love to participate if I can.

  133. I’m looking forward to reading this with my mom. I purchased two copies but already have in mind a neighbor I would ask to join us if I won a copy. I believe this study will lead to greater things in my own community. So very thankful for His word & women that share it so faithfully!

  134. Love the concept of this book. Just got my copy ,and my friends, in the mail yesterday. Can’t wait to read it on our beach vacation!

  135. This is actually my first Bloom experience. There are not enough words to express my excitement! I don’t cook but I do eat. Haha! But I have friends that love to cook so that’s what they’re gonna do & I shall clean. 🙂 Great friendships, right?! I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about this book. I know that my soul will be blessed!!!

  136. Our family and extended family has spent many hours around the dinner table and cooking in the kitchen together…so looking forward to the book club, can’t wait to see the recipies…I love Angie and Jess wish you could come and sit in my kitchen!

  140. I would be so honored to win, and would LOVE to read this book with you all. It looks like something that speaks right to my heart… And … Who doesn’t love a little summer reading?! 🙂

  141. I am looking forward to reading this book and sharing it with all of you. I have never participated in an online book club before. I like to cook and try new recipes for my family, so I look forward to that aspect, but I particularly love discussing how the Word of God and the love of Jesus Christ can be incorporated into every part of life.

  142. Looking forward to reading this book and joining the fun with this virtual book club. This will be my third one with you and I’m excited about the recipies. Planning on doing this one with my best friend who lives over an hour away and normally does a book club with others but we will do this one together as a first and God willing not last. it will be fun! Thanks for chance to win prize package!

  143. Looking forward to receiving my book(s) so I can get started reading! Have bought copies for my small group “sisters” at church. I know they will love it!

  144. After hearing so many great reviews of this book, I am excited to dive in! I also need the encouragement to keep pressing into community and loving others well. An extra bonus is that I love to cook, so I’m looking forward to new recipes!

  145. Looking forward to reading another book club book, and this one incorporates RECIPES and my love for cooking/baking! I’m also excited about reading about community and hospitality. Thanks, ladies!

  146. Oh wow, this is a super exciting topic. I am looking forward to reading it with a few of my young friends who are just beginning their journey of hospitality ministry! The book looks amazing, like one that I will read continually.

  147. I think this study would be fun. I am single, so I usually eat at the couch, but from time to time, even as one, I get out the china and just fix myself a special meal. I also love to bring friends over to share in the experience. One of my favorite things that I every did was do a “support raising” dinner for a missionary. This missionary worked with creative, mainly artist, in a metro area. So we had baked chicken. We served them on an artist pallet (like the ones they put paint on) and each person used a brush to add their own sauce to the chicken, which we had many varieties. We also did our cheesecake toppings that way and drank water that we added “colored drink mixed” to it. It was lots of fun. I really think food can be used in community and in celebration.

  148. My teenage daughter’s two favorite things are cooking and reading. I’ve talked her into reading the book with me! 🙂 I am most looking forward to having a chance to connect with her and deepen our relationship.

  149. I’m just looking forward to reading the book and all the content you’ll be providing to go along with it.

  150. i haven’t been able to participate in a Bloom study since before my daughter was born; the last one was Ann’s 1000 Gifts, which I LOVED. I’m looking forward to reading and studying together with other sisters in the Lord.

  151. I really like everything about this book selection. I love to cook, love to read, & love to discuss both with dear sister’s. It’s a winner!

  152. I’m looking forward to trying out some new recipes – things I normally wouldn’t make.

  153. I love reading but lack the community to start a book club, so I’m looking forward to sharing thoughts with others.

  154. My college daughter and her housemates (all seniors this year at Hope College)! introduced me to Cold Tangerines….and I have read all her books since. The cooking club idea really sounds wonderful. I have already bought a couple of her books to give to friends. Can’t wait to see what God does. 🙂
