Bloom-Fall2014-AccounceStudy-blog

Ohhhhh, y’all. Our Bloom fall study of Let’s All Be Brave? It’s going to be sooo good. Wasn’t our announcement video SO stinkin’ fun?

Quietly taking notes during the video shoot with Annie, Jessica and Angie…well, I can testify that these next few weeks of reading in community is going to inspire and challenge you to do (and not do) things you’ve never imagined. We can’t wait to hear your stories!

Is this your first Bloom study? Let us know in comments.  Are you returning? DO tell what other studies you’ve joined. New or veteran Bloomanista, please keep reading for what you’ll need to know over the next several weeks.

What to expect

Each week you’ll get to visit with our Bloom hosts Jessica Turner and Angie Smith via video as they talk through several chapters at a time with Annie DownsRobin Dance  will continue supporting the videos with companion blog posts and conversation in comments and in our Facebook Group.

How to join us

Taking part in a Bloom {in}courage book club is as easy as 1, 2, 3:

  1. Pick up a copy of Let’s All Be Brave as soon as possible (it’s on sale at DaySpring but it’s fine to shop locally or even try your library).
  2. Read at our pace (schedule below) or complete the book at your convenience. New videos and blog posts will be published each Monday and Thursday during the duration of the study. When you subscribe to Bloom you won’t even worry about forgetting-we’ll send you email reminders!
  3. Share your thoughts (we really, really want to hear from you). There are several ways to engage the Bloom Team:
  • LIKE the Bloom Facebook Page and invite your friends to do the same. This is a general page available throughout the year.
  • Comment to blog posts. It is such an encouragement to the Bloom Team when we can hear how much you’re enjoying the study or how a particular video, chapter or section resonates with you. We also love to see you interacting with other readers in the comment thread–friendships are born when like minds connect.
  • JOIN the Let’s All Be Brave Bloom Facebook Group. (NOW closed. PLEASE continue to engage with us on the posts themselves and in your favorite social media networks.  If you’re a little chattier, this might be the perfect place for you to engage. It’s a Closed Group to begin, but we’ll eventually make it a Secret Group for readers. And…there might be a special something extra for you when the study concludes!
  • We’ll look for you on Twitter and Instagram. Post your favorite quotes, tell us how you’re becoming more brave and share what you’re learning. Be sure to tag all your updates with @incourage #inbooks so we don’t miss them.

Let’s All Be Brave content will always be available here on the Bloom page, enabling you to watch videos and read the posts anytime, even if you begin the study after our official start date–there’s no such thing as “missing”.

(But be sure to subscribe to Bloom (in)courage emails so you’ll receive every update; it really is the best way to keep current.)

BUY A BOOK, GIVE A BOOK — AND GET FREE SHIPPING!

Bloom-Fall2014-SponsorBookRequest

Bloom book club is special for many reasons but perhaps the loveliest is our Sponsored Book Opportunity:   If you are able to purchase a book for someone in need, DaySpring has set up a “Sponsored Book” option for you.

What are Sponsored Books? Books purchased by our Bloom community, in addition to book donations by the publisher and DaySpring. We understand there are readers who couldn’t take part in a Bloom study because they can’t afford to buy a book; Sponsored books meet that need for many.

Should you decide to purchase your copy of Let’s All Be Brave at DaySpring AND buy a sponsored copy for another reader, you can receive free shipping by using the code BLOOMBOOK. This code is valid on any two-book purchase, so it will work if you’d like to purchase two books for yourself, two sponsored books or one of each.

PLEASE NOTE: There are two different product codes for Let’s All Be Brave–one for personal copies and another for Sponsored Books:

  Let's All Be Brave

You MUST choose one of each if you’re buying a copy for yourself and a sponsored book!!

Wanna know just how much this means to those who receive sponsored copies?  Read it in their own words–your generosity has incredible impact.

If you have any questions about the sponsored program, you can visit the FAQ page found here.

Happy dance! I joined the Bloom club with “Pursue the Intentional Life” by Jean Fleming. Love it! Enjoyed being in the fb group and interacting with others reading the book. In fact one of the ladies and I still connect every now and then. Forever sisters! I can testify about using an older book selection. This summer I along with some college age ladies read thru “What Women Fear” by Angie. We loved having the additional resource of the Bloom Book club! Thank you ladies for your servant hearts!

    • Robin Dance

      Nanette,

It was so much fun getting to know you a little last time! I’m so glad you’re back for another study (and this one is gonna be great! Can you tell how much I love it?).

  • http://www.notthatgirlthisgirl.blogspot.com Susan

This is my first Bloom Book Club! So excited!

    • Robin Dance

Susan!! Welcome–we hope it will be the first of many :).

  • http://marthakimballblogs.wordpress.com Martha

WooHOO!!! Our book club is also reading this book during the month of October! How perfect!

    • Robin Dance

      Martha,

Well, now; you’ll be a Star Student :). Feel free to send brownies to yours truly ;) :).

  • Heather

I’ve been following Annie’s blog for the past year or so and I absolutely love her. I’m about half-way through Let’s All Be Brave and this Bloom Book Club will be the incentive I need to pick it up again. (Note, I didn’t put the book down because it isn’t good – it’s pretty fabulous! Life just got in the way!)

    • Robin Dance

Oh, Heather…tell us about LIFE! It does have its distractions…

And Annie IS pretty lovable. Reading this book will confirm that over and over.

  • Megan

I’m very excited about this and can’t wait for a more in depth read of this great book. But I am pretty disappointed by the fact that most of the discussion is going to take place on Facebook, which I do not have. I feel like this is an ongoing issue with Incourage. It was impossible to participate in the Incourage community groups without having a Facebook. It’s just disheartening for those of us without Facebook who would otherwise be excited to participate.

    • Robin Dance

      Megan,

I PROMISE–if you’ll engage right here in comments, we’ll be thrilled. My preference is actually the comment thread but we offer Facebook for those who are more comfortable there. Thank you for your thoughts :).

      xo

  • Melaina Maney

My first time on bloom book club :-) Love Annie Downs! Can’t wait to start

    • Robin Dance

Yes! Glad to hear it :).

  • http://becmom45.wordpress.com Becky

This will be my first Bloom book study. I’m excited to get started. I don’t have many women around me as friends so I’m hoping some online friendships might be made through this study.

    • Robin Dance

      Becky,

I bet you’ll connect with a new friend or two (or…more???). There’s a lot of energy once we get started.

  • http://freshbrewedwriter.blogspot.com Pattie

I’m learning to be brave. I just got this book so I look forward to reading it with you all. Usually life gets in my way with finishing these studies, so hopefully I can start and finish strong this go-round. :)

    • Robin Dance

I’m praying for that, Pattie. For you and all of us. We know that’s a real possibility for many, so we’ll do our part to keep you engaged :).

  • Samantha Limon

First timer to the Bloom book club! I’m excited! (:

  • http://3dlessons4life.com Lyli @ 3-D Lessons for Life

  • Kathy B

Yay I’m excited about this! This is my first book club.

  • Annette Davidson

This is the first study I am going to participate in. I am so excited. Will the videos be sent to my e-mail address for me to view at anytime or is there only a specific time you can view this? I wrote all the dates on my calendar but want to make sure they will be available to watch anytime that day. Thank you for helping a newbie get started in my first on-line bible study.
    Blessings to you,
    Annette Davidson

    • Robin Dance

      Hey Annette,

The videos and blog posts will be sent to the email address you registered if you clicked the link to subscribe here: http://e.dayspring.com/join/3jh/signupbloom This is different than the regular incourage subscription.

Once the posts and videos are made public, they’re available to view at your convenience! We don’t limit the times they’re available (and you can even watch/read entire series we’ve already completed).

      I’m SO EXCITED you’re **this** excited :).

Be sure to re-read this post because it might answer additional questions that come up!! :)

  • Jessie

This is my first Bloom Book Club! I have LIKED the FB page, and have requested to join group. Oh, and subscribed to email. All I have to do is purchase book.

    • Robin Dance

Wahooo!! That’s the FUN step, Jessie!

  • laurie

We met Annie Downs at a mother-daughter event at our church in her hometown, Marietta, GA and think she is absolutely AMAZING!!! My daughter bought her books and loves the one she has read so far. Would this book club be appropriate for her? She is a very bright, mature freshman in high schoo…the same HS Annie graduated from :) LMK asap thanks!

  • Cyndi

Yay! I am so excited. This is my first Bloom book club too :)

  • http://www.amysotolongo.com amy

Love Bloom Book Club! I don’t usually comment or use the Facebook group but this time I think I will make the effort. The book is $3.99 on Kindle Amazon at the moment! Awesome…grabbed it this morning!

    • Robin Dance

Isn’t that a bargain, Amy? We’re thankful there’s such an affordable option for our readers!

    • Robin Dance

Hi There! This is my first time with an online book club! Very excited!

  • http://annaangela.com Angela

I got very schoolgirl giddy! Love the book, already finished it actually because it came out right when I needed to hear those words (Thank. You. Annie!). Great choice (in)courage, great choice. And now I’m excited to join the community, read the book again, and dive deeper!

    • Robin Dance

I love hearing all these women who’ve ALREADY read Annie’s book! Y’all are going to add SO much to our conversations :).

  • Cleo Tomlin

This is my first study and am really excited about it. I am a 75 year old woman and looking forward to learning from you young women. Thank you.

    • Robin Dance

      Cleo,

Honey…your comment blessed my socks right off my feet. Mercy…we’re so eager to learn from YOU! Don’t be shy in comments, please.

      • Sue

Am right there with you Cleo. I’m a 68 year old and was so blessed by the younger women in the summer Book Club with Jean Flemming. Couldn’t wait to get started. I have finished a couple of chapters in Annie’s book and loving it!

  • http://www.lisaspidle.com Lisa Spidle

So stinking excited to be doing this book study! I love Annie, I love this book! Can’t wait to get started. I giggled throughout the video. I know I’ll be giggling some more. You ladies rock! Thank you for doing this.

    Thank you for the encouragement!

    Lisa

  • Kat

I commented over on the FB page, but wanted to say hey here as well. I’m Kat, from Richmond, VA, & this will be my first Bloom book study! I’m such a nerd & love a good book study – this will be my first online experience. I also just happened to pick up the book a couple of weeks ago after having considered getting it since it came out – now I’m so glad I did!

    • Robin Dance

That sounds downright providential, Kat :). Look forward to hearing your thoughts as we journey together.

  • Crystal

This is my first time and I’m super excited

  • https://esthercreek.blogspot.com Esther

    Hi there ladies!

As long as I manage to find a book in time, this will be my first study! I’ve been wanting to join one since I found (in)courage, and this study matches up almost exactly with my university break, so I finally may be able to squish it in!! So excited, loved the video!!!

    Esther xx

    • Robin Dance

Squish it in…yes! That! It’s very easy to read and you’ll feel something stirring within as you do. I DO hope you get your hands on a book (it’s $3.99 on Kindle if that helps) :).

  • Kim M

Back again for my 3rd study! Started with A Million Little Ways by Emily Freeman (awesome)…I look forward to them now each season!

I’ve never done a book study! Looking forward to it!

  • Kaitlin Evans

I’m excited to try and obtain a sponsored copy!!!!

  • Melissa Ens

This is my second Bloom study. The first I did was Emily’s Million Little Ways which I loved so much. I can’t wait to do this one and might even read it with my 13 yr old daughter because that would be so fun! She already loves Annie and will love seeing her in person, I’m sure. And as a side note, Annie posted on her instagram recently that Let’s All Be Brave is $3.79 right now for the kindle version. I don’t know if you folks mind sharing that or not, but it was helpful for me! (Though I love paper books more, I might not have gotten it at this point otherwise.) Looking forward to the journey with you all! :)

    • Robin Dance

Yes! We’ve mentioned the sale price on Kindle, so thank you for thinking to include it here in comments. How FUN if you and your daughter go through it together! It’s a wonderful message to women of all ages. Maybe even the sooner, the better :).

  • alyson

  • Rachel

This is my first book club. I have just had a big life adjustment, with a new ministry, feeling a bit overwhelmed and under equipped to handle the new ministry. But I know that I have a bigger God than I can even imagine. It is time to be brave, and do the ministry that the Lord has provided for the Glory of God. Excited to be going on this journey with You All. Blessings

    • Robin Dance

Well…timing can mean so much, Rachel. I pray “Let’s All Be Brave” is an empowering and equipping ministry to you.

  • http://www.susanmulder.wordpress.com Susan

Just got my copy and am so excited to give this a try! I am being challenged to put myself out there for a lot of new things lately-especially things that scare me a bit. A study like this is one of those things. I somehow always end up feeling inadequate or not “whatever” enough and have stayed away from studies for years(literally!) but I get the feeling this is going to be something different-especially after watching the intro vid!!

    • Robin Dance

      Susan,

YOU ARE ENOUGH because the God Who indwells you is enough!! :) SO glad you’re being brave by joining us. See? You just took a “next” step :).

  • Lisa Smith

So excited! This is my first Bloom study. I purchased the book and am ready to get started…can’t wait.

  • Nikki

This is my first Bloom book study. My moms group is reading this book for our book club as well. Very excited to get started

Y’all. Your excitement is palpable. It is wonderful to see so many people just discovering Bloom and my hope is that you’ll stick with us to the end. Because I KNOW what’s in store and it gets better each week!! :)

This is going to be my first Bloom Book. I met Annie F. Downs when she spoke at SpringHill Camps in October in Michigan. Absolutely loved meeting her. Can’t wait to start reading her book.

  • http://truedignityofwomen.wordpress.com Bethanie Ryan

    Hello,

I’m really excited to read this book! I want to let you know though, that I just went to the Facebook group page and it’s already listed as a closed group. I know the e-mail we received 2 days ago said that the group would be closed on the 20th. I just wanted to let you know in case a mistake had been made.

    God bless,
    Bethanie

    • Robin Dance

      Hey Bethanie,

You’re right–our Let’s All Be Brave FB Group IS Closed. When I said we were closing it, it meant closed to NEW MEMBERS :). The difference b/t an Open and Closed FB Group is that anyone can add themselves to an Open Group; a Closed Group requires an administrator to approve entry (basically anyone who requests to join will be admitted). Everyone who has requested to join up until this morning even has been added (yaaaeee!).

Sorry for any confusion and thank you for making sure we were on top of it (and SORRY for my delayed reply–I’ve been out of town over the weekend and not checking comments closely.).

  • http://www.bigfatf.com Lisa H.

I just found this – is it too late to join?

    Thanks!
    Lisa

    • Robin Dance

No, Lisa!! We’d love to have you read along. The FB Group is now closed to new members, but that’s only one of our many ways to connect. Subscribe to Bloom emails (link above in post), read through our posts on Mondays and Thursdays and comment there :). We’d LOVE to hear from you and any newcomers who find us after our start!!

      :)

      • http://www.bigfatf.com Lisa H.

Thanks, Robin – I’m looking forward to it!
