In the beginning was the WORD
And the WORD was with God.
And the WORD was God.
The WORD –
the Capital Letter change-your-life Word
that winds itself into the sentences of your day
and spells out all the
glory in your ONE
EXTRAORDINARY
LIFE.
Strung between DISCO balls and WEDDING BELLS
all these years stretch like so many choose-your-own-adventure STORIES,
each new season a REWRITE as you turn the page to discover GRACE, FREEDOM, REST
right here in the middle of the chaos.
This is HOME
This freedom to take a RISK and fly into tomorrow
anchored by the people who HOLD HANDS around your TABLE.
Where you are WELCOME just the way you are.
Where you are PREAPPROVED.
Where you are always BECOMING
Over and over and over again between Monday and Sunday
All this becoming, all this shedding skin and fear
Because if the KINGDOM is a co-op and not a competition
If scared is the new BRAVE
Then choosing FRIENDSHIP ON PURPOSE
Is an act of holy COURAGE.
So we slip out of our shoes
and stand beside you in our DIRTY FEET
and broken, beautifully REDEEMED stories
because our WORDS MATTER
because THE WORD gave life to everything that was created, and His LIFE brought LIGHT to everyone.
Through you and you
and you too
WORD SISTERS
every one.

Lisa-Jo,
What a beautifully inspiring video/poem to start me day!! I especially love the part where you say that we are “preapproved” – so true. And, “if this Kingdom is a co-op and not a competition.” Wow, what if we REALLY lived life as a co-op and not a competition, the world would be a much different place! Words can build up and they can tear down. Thank you for using your gift of words to truly encourage me here this morning. On a great note…I will start my day…
Blessings to you,
Bev

Oh, poetic sister, I love your words. I love how life is a coop, not a competition. I love how scared is the new brave. And I love how I am free to tell you so. And we can lift each other up to HIM–because HE is able to give us the strength and grace to keep loving others well. Please know that I am lifting you up to Him today.

I could listen to you all day long! Words matter a lot! We need to encourage and build up each other not tear down! Christ wrote a lot about our words–especially taming the tongue (James).
I need encouragement daily! That is one reason I come here to (IN) Courage!
