“The Lord will be your everlasting light.”
From Everlasting to Everlasting . . .
December seems to be a month when we share a few of our favorite things. For me, my favorite things are fairly simple:
A steaming cup of chai tea on a chilly winter morn.
A novel that beckons every turn of the page until the very last line.
A sunset that paints the sky in hues so bright you pause to wonder at the Painter.
These are a few of my favorite things. But each one will eventually come to an end.
The cup of tea will soon offer its last drop.
The novel will soon give up its last page.
The sunset will soon fall behind the last light.
As the cliche goes . . . all good things must come to an end. But the truth is, all things will come to an end. All except One.
There is One who will last forever.
He lives from everlasting to everlasting. And He invites us to join Him for eternity.
The LORD is our Light.
Time cannot contain Him.
An orbit around the sun cannot measure Him.
The highest mountain cannot reach Him.
He is uncontainable, immeasurable, unreachable.
And yet, the Uncontainable chose to become contained in the small body of a Child.
The Immeasurable chose to become measurable in the finite body of a Man.
The Unreachable chose to become reachable with His arms stretched out on a cross.
And now He lives inside every person who calls on His name — Jesus — our Everlasting Light.
What are a few of your favorite things?

Denise,
Reading this post just makes me shake my head in awe and wonder. To think that the Creator of the universe chose to be so limited in the helpless form of a tiny baby…well I just can’t get my head around that. I believe that I am not meant to get my miniscule mind around an uncontainable God. He truly is from everlasting to everlasting…may my heart and soul never cease being in awe and praising Him. Beautiful post!
Blessings and may you have a joyous Christmas,
Bev

1. Quiet moments in the still of the morning with my bible and my devotion.
2. Laughable moments with my kids watching them be kids.
3. Lunch with my girlfriends that doesn’t come often enough, even if weekly.
4. A text from a friend that makes me laugh.
These fill my heart bucket over! It is in the thro’s of those moments that I know He is near. And he is giving me the things I desire, not necessarily need. His love does give me more than I need and exactly what I need. Even when I let the weight of the world bend me. He is there, in encouraging me to keep going. Showing me immeasurable love.

He is the light of the world and we that believe should not hide that light under a bushel, all year long there should be joy, singing, praise for Him. We will find that light in the still, small voice, in the quiet rest of His peace….in the roses, in the raindrops, in the warmth of the sun, I like watching sparrows and butterflies, the sparrows always remind me that He takes care of them, and me, the butterflies because when I was crying on the porch one day a long time ago, two white ones showed up and practically danced around me, even sat on my hand, they must have been angels.

Denise,
A few of my favorite things are: steaming cup hot tea, beautiful sunsets & sunrises, snuggle time with my sweetheart! Yes eventually the cup empties, sunsets & sunrises fade and time moves on! Our choir sang the song “I Have seen the Light” and it reminds me that Jesus is our light in this dark world!
Praise God He is our everlasting light!
Have a Blessed Christmas!! 🙂
