We know your life is full, sister.
We know you work in cubicles, in hospitals, and offices. You work early mornings and overnights. You work in your homes to create safe, welcoming spaces for your family and friends. You care for your aging parents, and you raise your young kiddos. You’re involved in your communities and your churches, in book clubs and PTA’s and dinner groups. We know you want to connect with God, to hear from His heart and to hear what He has to say about yours.
And we also know that you may have exactly three minutes to breathe as you live your beautiful, colorful, crazy, extraordinary ordinary life.
That’s one of the reasons we are excited to be able to offer you this resource. Eighty women contributed to A Moment to Breathe, our upcoming 365-day devotional, and we promise that they take their moments right in the middle of their daily crazy — just like you.
Here’s what two of our dear (in)courage friends and A Moment to Breathe contributors, Lisa-Jo Baker and Anna Rendell, had to say about where they find moments to breathe — and they may not look like what you’d expect:
Friend, we wanted to make it easy to give yourself a moment — right in the middle of your everyday mess — and for you to give a moment to your friend as well! Pre-order a few copies of A Moment to Breathe from LifeWay.com or inside any LifeWay store, and you’ll get a FREE DaySpring mug with each copy! Right now the book is on sale for $12.99 (down from $19.99), and the mug is valued at $12.99, so it’s pretty much a BOGO. It’s a great chance to grab a Christmas gift or two, but the deal ends at midnight on October 2nd (or when they run out of mugs) so put in your pre-order soon.
Then when your book arrives, toss it in your purse, briefcase, or diaper bag. No matter where you are, no matter how full your life may be, snatch a moment. Breathe deep. And connect with the One who created you to live fully in each of your moments.
Even while you’re in the preschool pick-up line.

ME TOO. EVEN BETTER, TO OFFER THIS WONDERFUL RESOURCE FREE TO THOSE OF US WHO DO NOT HAVE THE FINANCES AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE. THANK YOU.
Pearl Allard says
Joyce, it’s not the complete book, but they do offer a sample of the book free here: https://aws.incourage.me/a-moment-to-breathe#modal2 (it encouraged me – praying you’re encouraged too, sweet sister).
Lisa-Jo Baker says
Thanks for sharing this link, Pearl. And for echoing our heart — yup, we’re delighted to provide daily free content here at (in)courage and via emails to our subscribers. That’s why we exist – as a ministry to bring soul food and daily encouragement to our sisters in Christ who gather from across the globe.
And we also love being able to occasionally offer our readers the chance to pick up more than one blog post at a time — through our published books and devotionals. For years our readers have asked for (in)courage books and resources and we’re delighted to be able to respond to that need with resources like A Moment to Breathe. That doesn’t change any of the daily, free content we will continue to provide at the blog, it just expands the resources we’re able to offer our community.
And yup, as Pearl so graciously shared, we always always offer free samplers from our published books — and better yet, have enjoyed giving away free copies of the books to women on the launch teams. So we hope there’s always something here for everyone.
Warmest wishes to all,
Lisa-Jo Baker

Not all of us have young children or work outside the home- or have finances for products you’re selling. If it’s not a site about God’s word – I don’t have a need for it- I get plenty of advertisements – don’t need anymore .

And because we know that the women who gather here are coming from all walks of life you’ll find stories from every age and life stage represented at (in)courage. Our hope is that while one article might minister to one woman, the next one will speak to her sister in Christ.

Hi ladies,
I did my Christmas shopping early….guess what my family and good girlfriends (who deserve a moment to breathe) are getting for Christmas? You guessed it – this wonderful devotional filled with “REAL” stories by “real” women with a focus on finding your identity in Christ. For $12.99 for both, you can’t beat it!
Thanks (in)courage,
Blessings,
Bev xx
Anna Rendell says
Bev! I love it! And you rocked that BOGO. What a sweet gift you’ll be giving your girlfriends. We love you and are just so honored to call you friend.
Beth Williams says
Ladies,
Life today seems so much busier than ever. I thought with the advent of technology life was to get easier not harder. As I get older I also find I have more responsibilities. Why do we try to cram so much “good” into our lives and not have any margin. Currently doing a Bible Study by Priscilla Schirer “Breathe” about Sabbath Rest and putting margin into your lives. Believe it or not God ordained a Sabbath Rest. He freed us from the slavery of work & doing. We still feel the need to be enslaved to stuff, work, etc. Sounds like a great devotional.
Blessings 🙂
Anna Rendell says
Ooh Beth, that study sounds fabulous and spot on. He sure did ordain rest, and we’re pretty sure He meant it! 🙂 Thanks for your comment today.
Erin Whitmer says
I love this! And what a fantastic gift idea for all the busy moms in our lives!
Anna Rendell says
Right? As a busy mom myself, I’d love to receive such a gift! Thanks for your comment today, Erin!
Pearl Allard says
Seriously? I’m reading this in the pick-up line at school! 🙂 And I ordered two of these books because the sampler download was so encouraging. One for me and one to share! Thank you!
Anna Rendell says
Pearl. You’re my favorite. I love that you’re actually IN the pick-up line! And I am so glad that the sampler touched your heart. Blessings, and may you capture that elusive moment to breathe!
Penny says
Thank-you for letting us know.
Have a blessed day all,

Ruth says
If we are too busy then we need to STOP and reduce our commitments. God’s Word tells us that our highest calling is to be a wife, then a mother…..and everything else is a far lower priority. There are so many articles about busy mothers needing a few minutes of rest, but we are often too busy of our own making. Slow down and make time for what is important. For years I was over busy, over achieving (successfully) because I felt I ‘had to’. God pulled me up hard and now I read with sadness of how so many other women are struggling, just like I used to, because they try to do too much. Slow down sisters and enjoy life!
Lisa-Jo Baker says
Amen to that Ruth. We’re always grateful for the reminder from our sisters to slow down. Our hope is that this book will be one more voice sharing a tender reminder that God has not created us for the crush and the rush — but that the God who breathed His own life and Spirit into us will help us breathe out our anxiety and in His gift of presence.
