Fall is my favorite season, so I love finding simple ways to savor it. Here are five easy ways (and a treat!) to embrace fall. Maybe they will inspire you, too?
1. Decorate for Fall.
I love gathering things like books, baskets, and other pretty things that make my house feel cozy and inviting. You can see more of my family room updates and my easy fall mantel here!
2. Enjoy simple handmade projects.
It’s nice to slow down a bit and make something by hand. This pillow trim was SO easy to add! The Pom Pom fringe pillow is an Anthropologie store knock off, so it is budget friendly too! See the instructions via the link.
3. Create easy “use what you have” fall centerpieces.
Why make decorating more complicated than necessary? Find beautiful things you already have to create a centerpiece like this one, with pears, fall candles and a wood cutting board! You can see more of this centerpiece here.
4. Have fun making gifts!
The holidays will be here before we know it! Come see the sweet DIY painted polka dot mug instructions along with a hot cider recipe, perfect for hostesses and gifts.
5. Bake something with pumpkin!
Pumpkin squares (and anything pumpkin!) are our absolute FAVORITE treat this time of year! Come see our easy delicious recipe here!

Happy Fall, everyone!

Melissa,
Fall is my favorite season as well! I will admit that sometimes I don’t decorate for fall because I know that Christmas decorating is just around the bend. But, you have inspired me to keep it simple and at least do something to celebrate this beautiful season! Thank you.
Blessings,
Bev
ps. I have made pumpkin bread twice…does that count? 🙂

Summer slips into fall almost unnoticed here in Florida. Your ideas will help us enjoy the crispness of the season, in spite of the temperature outdoors! I’m anxious to visit your blog and discover what else is up your sleeve! (P.S. I, too, am a pastor’s wife with three children, ‘though all grown and out on their own now.)
Melissa Michaels says
Nice to meet you, Nancy! Thanks so much for connecting. Two out of my three kids are grown and on their own. One 13 year old left :-). I’m savoring THAT too! 🙂

Fun to see you over here, Melissa! Is it weird to say I recognized your ottoman before I saw who wrote this post? (giggle)
I’m trying to hold on to every bit of Fall loveliness before it slips away! I appreciate your practical and beautiful suggestions.
