Lots of people I know are really great at buying gifts. Gift giving is their love language. They love the challenge of finding just the right gift for each person on their list. My little sister is one of these people.
I, however, am not.
My love language is quality time. Right before Christmas this year, my husband and I are taking a short “baby moon.” We’re going on a 4-night cruise, and my grandparents are going with us! I’m so excited about this time away.
Of course I’m excited about the cruise itself – being on a boat and at the beach (and let’s be honest, the unlimited food is a big perk to this pregnant mama now, too), but I’m MOST excited about just spending time with people I love. This cruise is a time for my hubby and me to connect before this little baby enters our world and changes (so I hear) everything. It’s also a time to spend with my grandparents who I don’t get to see all that often. Ten hours in the car to get to the port? Bring it on! Conversations and bouts of silence and deciding where to grab lunch on the way together sounds so fun because we’ll be together! My favorite part about the holidays is the time I get to spend with my people.
And if you’re like my sister or all those other awesome people I know and your love language is finding just the right words to say or finding just the right gift, we’ve got you covered.
Our team picked their favorite gifts from (in)courage and DaySpring to help you find the perfect gift for all the women and kiddos in your life. Just click here to view our Staff Picks page and start shopping our favorite gifts for your favorite people!
No matter your love language, from all of us here at (in)courage, we hope this holiday season is a time of connecting with your community and connecting with our Savior.
We’d love to know: What’s your “go to” gift this holiday season? We’re taking notes and adding your ideas to our own Christmas lists!

Thank you for the link and the ideas… I used to be that “must have the perfect gift for each person” to the point of making myself sick trying to meet my OWN crazy expectations. Recently I learned that was 1) going overboard 2) not necessary for half the people on my list because they didn’t care as much as I did. This has caused me to pause so much that I don’t even want to give stuff anymore. (though I love stuff – especially words) and I am in a weird sort of limbo on the material/shopping front. The Good news is that I am in a greater search to find a gift to touch the recipients heart. I have found that is many times not a tangible item. Time spent, a note written, a re-gift of something I own and they like – are all ways I can give meaningful gifts too. Sometimes you have to think out of the box or change a behavior to get to something much better!
