This is the second installment of the Marketplace Loving Our Neighbors series. You can read the first post here.
You might have noticed that on Wednesdays, we talk a lot about new (in)courage products here on the Marketplace. We want to make sure you’re the first to know about product releases and tell you the story behind them.
This December, we’d like to do something a little different and point you to some other folks who are doing awesome things around the world. Their work supports women in need all around the world, and their products are absolutely beautiful! So we’re loving our neighbors as we show them some love here at (in)courage, while they’re loving their neighbors through the work they provide around the world.
We hope you might find an item in their shops that will make the perfect Christmas gift this holiday season—they’re all sharing some special coupon codes, just for you! And if you find you love these organizations as much as we do, we’ve given you all the links to show them a little social media love!

fashionABLE
Your purchase of a fashionABLE product creates sustainable business in Africa. fashionABLE is committed to long-term solutions to fighting poverty, and their main focus is creating opportunities for vulnerable women. That means that your purchase creates jobs, so that the women are not dependent upon charity, but instead are a vital part of a developing economy.
Their strategy is two-fold. They work with women to help them start small business cooperatives, and they partner with and require manufacturers to also employ women with fair wages & fair hiring practices.
In Ethiopia, prostitution is often linked with deep levels of generational poverty and financial hopelessness. Lacking meaningful resources and a sense of hope, many women resort to prostitution as a means of supporting themselves and their families. These women are often desperate to leave the sex industry but remain trapped by a lack of opportunity and rehabilitative support.
“Women At Risk” is an organization fashionABLE has partnered with to rehabilitate former sex workers. This work requires not only getting these women off the streets but also providing them counseling and helping them find alternate means of income – this is why fashionABLE was created. Their ultimate goal is to help these women become healthy and productive members of society.
Headquarters for both scarf and leather production are currently in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia. The products are made by women in the businesses fashionABLE helped start, as well as other Ethiopian sources that include women and men, to help meet demand. While being supported by those sources, fashionABLE is continually funding the training of more women in order to employ as many women as demand will allow. All the while, they are meeting the mission that your purchase of a fashionABLE product continues to create sustainable business for more women in Africa.
fashionABLE is offering (in)courage readers an exclusive 20% discount! Use code INCOURAGE at checkout – but hurry! This offer is only good today, December 17! We’ll wait here while you click through and shop (we happen to love the Able Scarf in a big way!).

JOYN
At the heart of JOYN lies a desire to see lives changed. To see those crippled by poverty and hardship dance for joy. To do this, JOYN has partnered with a nonprofit called JoyCorps to provide employees with not only steady jobs and a good work environment, but a daily meal plan, education for their children, English and vocational training, and medical care. Lives are changing as a result.
Today, JOYN employs a diverse and growing team of Americans, Australians, Brits, Indians, Tibetans, and Nepalese working together in Rajpur. Theirs is a community of people who strive to take care of one another.
JOYN continues to sell beautiful products handmade by artisans who do 100 percent of the work, from weaving to block printing to stitching. This brings JOY to those who make the products, and JOY to those who buy them.
Shop their store and receive 20% off your order! Use coupon code JOYNinCourage at checkout. We definitely have the Ikat Envelope Clutch on our wishlists this year!

KraftyKash
Kashoan has always had a love for reading books and words. What started out as a hobby 13 years ago has turned into KraftyKash Designs, a small family run business located in Lincoln, Nebraska. Working side by side with her husband Kiley, Kashoan makes custom one word necklaces, map necklaces, and Bible verse necklaces.
This has become so much more than just a jewelry business, and it is their amazing customers who have taught them that. Their customers often share their stories with them about why they love their jewelry and the impact each piece has made. Their products are also about connecting with people on a personal level and connecting with a community.
KraftyKash is committed to helping globally as well as locally, like the work they did with Lisa-Jo Baker to help build a community center in South Africa or designing a special pendant to help provide natural disaster assistance to the Red Cross in Oklahoma. Giving back is such an important part of Kiley & Kashoan’s lives and they love being able to give back through their jewelry.
KraftyKash is excited to partner with us this holiday season. They are offering (in)courage readers a special 20% off coupon toward your entire order! Just use coupon code thankful20 at their shop! We’re loving that they’ve partnered with Lulu Tree (an organization we featured last week!) with this gorgeous necklace.

I have several of the JOYN products and can attest that they are very well made and well worth the cost. If I could I’d buy them all!!

I ADORE Krafty Kash! Not only do they make beautiful, quality pieces they have hearts of gold. I adore the family! I have many pieces from them and go to them regularly for new pieces or for gifts! I will have to check out the others, too.
Great feature!

I have a JOYN purse that I bought through DaySpring and I thought I would just use it for the summer, but it is still my purse and I am loving the splash of color. I have thought about switching to something more winter-y but I love that when people ask about my purse I can say it was handmade and even came with a card signed by each person who worked on it! That has a LOT of meaning for me and I cherish that little card and have prayed many times for those women.
