  1. Erin,
I love that you bring out how friendship is defined by loyalty. It’s easy to be friends with someone when everything is A okay, but it’s your true friends that will be there with you when you hit the lowest of lows and will rejoice with you when joy returns in the morning. Your post just makes me so thankful for the loyal friends I have in my life. As for what I need from my friends??? I would say prayer. Knowing that my friends are also my prayer warriors is, indeed, comforting especially when my faith grows weak. When I’m doubting, their prayers are a source of strength that they are praying for me even when I can’t pray for myself. When a friend asks, “What can I pray for you?” it’s a balm to my soul.
    Blessings,
    Bev xx

    • Oh, yes! I completely agree with you about prayer from friends, Bev! Knowing they are lifting me up and walking alongside me is so powerful! Thanks for your thoughts today!

  2. Erin,

Thank-you for sharing your thoughts and the story of Naomi, and Ruth. I really enjoyed reading them. My loyal friendships have come in different forms, and for them I am grateful.
    Have a blessed day all,

    Penny

    • Thank you for your kinds words, Penny! Jesus knows we need different friends for different seasons in our life, doesn’t He? So grateful for that.

  3. “Hard times are never welcome, but I am mature enough to see the growth that happens in myself when I have no other choice but to cling to God.” – This is so good!!

  4. Erin,

God has seen fit to put a few loyal friends in my path. I am ever so grateful for that!! Right now is another tough time for me with my aging dad & his dementia. I have people who understand and pray for me. Praise God for this!!! I try to connect with people by doing nice things for them. I send e-cards, snail mail, smile & say hello-just letting them know I care.

Our church had a women’s Bible study on the book of Ruth. It was insightful. Challenges you to be the kind of friend Ruth was to Naomi. Later see how Naomi befriended Ruth by giving advice. God blessed them both. I believe if you are a true loyal friend that God will bless you both !!!

    Blessings 🙂

    • What a blessing those friends are and I’m sure you are to them, as well! I just love the relationship God built between Naomi and Ruth – such an encouragement to me! Thanks for sharing, Beth!
