Ezekiel 36:25-27 TLB
A New Spirit
Today is the last day of the year, and tomorrow brings with it not just a new year but a fresh start. No matter what we’ve faced this last year — the hard, challenging, or painful; the lovely, exciting, or beautiful — tomorrow is full of fresh mercies. God offers us grace and forgiveness, a new heart, and a new spirit. When we accept this gift of a new year and a new life in Him, He promises to give us a heart that is once again soft and a spirit that is obedient.
As we close out this year, reflecting on all that has happened in the past 365 days, all the ways we’ve grown and struggled and loved and learned, let’s remember that a new day is coming. And He will give us a new heart!

(in)courage friends,
I love this verse and take great comfort in knowing that God can remove hearts of stone and replace them with hearts of flesh (love). If He can so this….He can do anything. He is ABLE and with Him ALL things are possible. Clinging to this hope for me and for you as we go into a New Year. Blessings to all my (in)courage friends and how you minister to my heart!!
Happy, Healthy, & Blessed New Year,
Bev xx

Today’s and words of reflection are exactly what I need to hear. 2017, has had some awesome mountain tops, but has had even more very low valley’s. 2018 is a fresh start with a renewed heart. He is ABLE and ALL things are possible!

Thank you for this beautiful verse! To those out there who feel (like me) that they have completely failed during this year: God is able to give us all the desire and strength to serve Him and keep our focus on His will for us – every single day. Let’s take courage, He is with us and FOR us!
“Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto Him be glory…throughout all ages, world without end!”
Happy New Year!! Watch out for the flowers God lovingly puts on your path 😉 !!

Thank you so much for this! I love the promises hidden in Ezekiel’s writings. When I prayerfully chose “Refresh” as my word for 2018, this verse from Ezekiel was one of several speaking to me. It cross-references well with Psalm 51:10-12, often sung as a hymn:
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Cast me not away from Thy presence, oh Lord
Take not Thy holy spirit from me
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation
And renew a right spirit within me
This is my heart’s cry: purify my heart. Using “Refresh” as my guide all year, I will be reminded often to apply these verses to my life. I can’t wait to see the growth I am sure will follow!

In Courage,
I pray each and everyone has a blessed New Year’s day. May 2018 be a better year filled with more of God’s goodness & blessings!!
The past few years have been hard for me. Dealing with aging parent health issues. So thankful for His wonderful mercies new every day! 2017 ended on a flat note for me. My in-laws are having some major health issues. Both were in hospital Thanksgiving week & my mother-in-law now has a cold. It will be hard, but thankfully God will be there all the way! 2018 will be a better year. It will be a year filled with God’s goodness & mercies. Hubby & I have made resolutions & are making changes in our lives. This could only happen thanks to God changing our hearts!!
Blessings 🙂
