  1. I love the way you phrase things. Your writing really strikes me. Thank you for your words!

  2. A great devotional for the beginning of a new week. I’m in agreement.
    Thank you and bless you.

  3. Michele, I’m lingering on these words: “I want to grow in my relationship with God, such that I consistently celebrate what He’s already done. … Because more than another divine performance, I need His nearness.” Yes, friend. Thank you. This is my heart too. Thank you for pointing the way to prayer and praise and His presence.

  4. Michele,

Such needed words in today’s world. Far to often people pray as a last resort to get God to solve a problem when they can’t figure out a solution. It isn’t the first thing they do. Prayer should be something we do all the time. In Bonnie Gray’s book “Whispers of Rest 40 days of God’s Love to Revitalize Your Soul” she talks about breath prayers. Simply breath in & say Jesus then breath out & say help me or thank you. For me sometimes I turn on praise music, sit & sing praises to God. Letting Him know how much I adore Him just for who He is. A good prayer model is the ACTS method. Adoration-giving God praise for who He is & what He’s done in your life. Confession – dealing with sin in our lives. Thanksgiving – thank God for what He’s blessed you with. Finally come with Supplication – asking God to help others or yourself.
    Great post – thanks Michele.

    Blessings 🙂

  5. Wow – just what I needed to hear this morning!! Thank you for your thoughts (from the Lord) on prayer.

  6. A great reminder! Yes, lingering over his nature and celebrating Him; that is so gratifying and fulfilling. Lately, I’ve hastened to the Supplications that I miss out on the beauty of basking in His presence. Thank you Michele.

  7. My favorite quiet time spot is also on the deck–early in the morning when the light is golden and the birds are praising. Love your idea of a praise journal, specifically listing God’s unique qualities that are most meaningful in the moment. I already keep several prayer-journals on various themes (gratitude, God’s faithfulness to our family, listening to God) but may have to add one more!! Thank you, Michele!
