  1. i love this! years ago i took a pottery class and while it was fun, it required effort. the movie “ghost” is misleading because it leads us to believe it’s an easy process. this line says it best, “It turns out that in pottery-making, as in life, you have to trust the process.” the last three words are usually quite difficult for me as processes are not quick, easy, and i don’t know what all it entails. however, little by little, i’m getting better at trusting the process. and i still marvel at the pieces i made in that class. others may not appreciate them, but to me they are absolutely beautiful because i KNOW all the time, work, and effort that went into creating them. thank you for the reminder to trust the process!

  2. I am so humbled by your words this morning. Both yesterday and today I have been feeling very defeated with my current work situation. I tried making some changes but it’s looking like they may not be right for me. The image of smashing the clay to start new is very relatable to me. It’s hard to admit our mistakes, but I love what you said about trusting the process. Not knowing where the right place/position is uncomfortable, its uneasy, but I have to believe HE has it under control and trust him to direct my path.

  3. Thanks for the reminder, Dorina. “… As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand… (Jeremiah 18:6)

  4. Beautiful and encouraging post! Sure it was fun for you and your friend! Im sure as God has had to rework me a few times, it wasn’t fun, but He never gave up! And still having to add water to my hard lump of clay on occasion!
So thankful He is so patient with His pottery pieces!

  5. I loved how you retold the biblical story of the Potter and the clay with much more insight having thrown pottery yourself. I’ve never done that so I very much appreciate it the imagery. Thank you and have a blessed Easter.

  6. Dorina,

This hit me: I held it with a quiet sense of pride because it wasn’t fancy, but it was my creation. I believe that is how God views us. He’s proud of His creation the work we are doing for Him. He’s the perfect potter & we are but clay. I want God to mold me & transform me into a beautiful version of Himself. We have to be obedient & help out. We have to stay connected to the vine drink its living water. Then we will slowly morph into that beautiful Princess Bride of Christ.

    Blessings 🙂
