Between soccer practice, fixing/eating/cleaning up dinner, late night class projects, baking cupcakes for a school party, running to the grocery store for the third time this week, trying to stay in touch with girlfriends, having more than a ten minute conversation with your husband and now piling on Christmas parties, writing your holiday letter, and shopping for your big family, when is there time for the important things?
I’m sure when someone mentions family worship, you probably think to yourself, “And how do expect me to fit that in?! I would love to do that with my kids, but how?”
That’s where some new friends of mine come in. I met Heather at the MOPS National Convention in Nashville, TN this past fall. She works for Seeds Family Worship. If you’re not familiar, you’re going to thank me later.
She sent me home with some of their CDs. I loved what I heard. All the songs are well-created, catchy, and taken straight from scripture. (And I must say, not annoying!) Thanks to Jason Houser, the founder and writer of these amazing songs, you can make worship and spiritual discipleship a part of your home. Best of all your family will be planting God’s word in their hearts and memorizing over 60 portions of scripture.
To help you grow your ‘family garden,’ Seeds Family Worship has given (in)courage readers a gift – a free download of Joy from The Seeds Worship CD collection for all of our readers. Remember, God is the Grower, but you can plant and water them in the hearts of your kids.
To win a complete Seeds Family Worship CD collection, leave a comment sharing what brings joy to your kids/family. The giveaway ends midnight Monday, Dec 14th. We’ll randomly select three winners and announce them on Tuesday.

It brings me joy to hear the questions and comments from our three year old little girl- tell me about Jesus and the disciples mommy… “you never run from God, you always run to Him” 🙂 and recently at “random” times this advent season, hearing her by herself playing and speaking words of life, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End”. This makes me heart so happy!
Melanie says
We love to enjoy nature together – the silence, the different climates all year round (we all love rain ! :o),… and coming home after a long day outside in the cold to read some books and enjoy some hot chocolate.
Candace says
Right now what brings me joy is that I purposely said NO to many things this December in order to say YES to my God and my family. I have completely loved every minute of our advent devotions each night with candlelight and christmas carols. This Advent has been very special for me, even though we haven’t done all the million activities that we usually do. 🙂 I have heard about these CD’s before and would LOVE to win a copy!!
Niki says
We always eat meals together at the table- no matter if it’s early before a sports practice or late after bible study. Each night we play a game called “High and Low”. Every person goes around the table and tells one “high” that happened as well as a low. This really opens up conversation and with 3 boys sometimes that is hard. Even our youngest (3) loves this tradition and it really does bring us so much JOY!
Emily says

Being together as a family, going to church together, singing in the car (we have the Seeds sample CD and LOVE it!), reading books together, and having family movie night all bring happiness to our family. To quote my husband in a recent sermon, though, “Happiness comes from happenings. Joy comes from the Only One who can give it.” So, our favorite family activities bring us happiness, but the fact that we are a Christian family, serving our wonderful Savior brings us true Joy!
Sharyl Riley says
Our Joy comes from our Savior, Jesus Christ. We share our joy with our friends, neighbors and family by sharing the story of Jesus’ birth. This is kind of silly but we live in Oregon where it rains and rains and rains and the other morning it was one of those beautiful blue skies, sun shining (cold) but gorgeous days and my 3 year old came out into the toy room where we have these huge windows looking out into this field of tall pine trees and he just stopped and his face lit up and he said Mom the sun is shining and it is a beautiful day! His whole face was in awe of the beauty out of our window and I just had to laugh and I told him yes it was a beautiful day and I thanked the Lord for that day, that morning, that moment, amd my son. That was joy for me that I stored in my heart to remember on these long rainy dreary dark days.
Misty says
oops it’s 11:53 here, oh well! It was a wonderful reminder of that day, thanks!
