  1. I just read about your book on a friends blog (thanks Jen C) that directed me to your site – which directed me to here – which I already follow on my google home page. Just another circle in life! Looking forward to reading your book – and more – thanks for the inspiration.

  2. Ann, thank you for your beautiful blog, for the laughing, crying, convicting, encouraging words. I received your book yesterday in my mail, I can hardly wait to read it. God bless you on this new segment of your journey, being a published author.

  3. I am so looking forward to the book club!
The Lord has used you, Ann, to help me draw so much closer to Him.
I hope you don’t mind..I think you are the closest to a spiritual director that I’ve found so far. I hear Him through your words. Thanks for helping me listen.
    God bless you..Trish

  4. Yeah! A POSITIVE book club – wonderful! Thank you for allowing the Father to use you to encourage SO many!

  5. I hope I may one day travel through your book, Ann, as it sounds like a sweet and stretching journey. Your blog was one of the very first I ever came across as this 48-year-old daughter learned new tricks with a computer 5 years ago….And I’m very glad for it; it has been a community of encouragement for a never-quite-fit-in kind of creature.
    Thank you for the giveaway….
Blessings to you and your sweet family.
    Lisa H.

  6. Can’t wait to get a hand on your book once it’s awailable a little closer to home, this seems like a good gift to give to my friends as well… (I live in Norway and the shipping from US is just too much to justify buying it right now). But it sounds like a really good book that I would want to read, so thanks for the giveaway. May I be the lucky one 😉

  7. Reading Amazon’s excerpts of your book just floored me. Amazingly real, heart-rending, and inspiring. Congratulations, Ann, for completing this work and thank you for sharing your heart with us all.

  8. My list of people to give this book to is growing! Every page brings another person to mind who would be blessed by your amazing words.

  9. I simply cannot wait to read this book! And what a perfect time of year for me to start…huddled inside with my family, a fire, wool blankets and hot tea…to think about the multitude of blessings the Lord has given to me! Thank you for humbly allowing the Lord to speak thru you, Ann! ~Sue~

  10. I’ve been following the amazon tracking for days waiting for the book to arrive – it should be today and I am wholly on pins and needles. Its been a long time since I”ve been so excited to receive something!

  11. I read the first chapter of this book a few days ago and cannot stop thinking about it! Looking forward to reading the rest of it.

  12. I’d love to win, but alas, I live on the other side of this spinning ball. Postage is astronomical, and I’d likely not receive it anyhow (thievery rampant here). So, should my name pop up, can you please send it to my sister-in-law, instead? Perhaps I can bless her from afar through you. Blessings to you all, for all you do for Him.

  13. I just haven’t yet found the words…you are a blessing, Ann, and on my list of Thanksgivings.

  14. I am eagerly awaiting to receive your book in the mail any day now, so if I were to win one, determining which friend to give my second copy to would be the highlight of my week! Thank you both for the blessing of your words!

  15. my copy showed up this week.

i read wondering for words to describe words.

thanks as the other side prayer – i agree.

    i’ve always agreed with you.

    much love,
    zena

  16. My copy is due to arrive Tuesday and I am literally chomping at the bit in anticipation. Seriously, my teeth are actually sort of grinding right now! I’m blessed by every blog post, Ann, and I can’t wait to hold your pretty book of words in my hands.

  50. I am wanting this book so badly! And if I wasn’t on a complete spending freeze right now, I would already own it. A Holy Experience is my favorite blog – one that I read everyday and draw so much from.. Ann, you have such an encouraging spirit and you help me to daily get on my knees and spend time with the Lord in the quiet. Would love to win a copy! 🙂

  51. I received the book 2 days ago. It is beautifully written and it is life changing. I have never thought of eucharisto and now I think of it all of the time. The fact the Jesus gave thanks the evening before His death–I never thought of that. I have started my 1000 gifts and it is life changing. It changes the way you see things. Praise the Lord for His work through your writing.

I am new here and still trying to figure out how to get around, but am so very fulfilled to find a community to support me in my journey back to God and prayer. Ann speaks and writes so beautifully and has brought many tears to my eyes many times while reading how God works in our lives. Daily reading of the in(courage) blog and A Holy Experience on my google reader is such a peaceful time for me and it takes me to a place deep within filled with joy. So, thank you again for being there as I know that this is right where I’m supposed to be, just as I am. Can’t wait to get the book and for tomorrow to tune in for the introduction. Thank you for giving to those who are not able to afford the book and Gods Blessings to you all. “Big Hugs”

  65. My copy of the book is on it’s way… so excited to dig in to it. I read the first chapter online and realized I HAD to read the rest – because your speaking words my heart needs to chew on. THANK YOU for bravely telling your story and pressing your sisters a little closer to HIM.

  66. I haven’t received my copy yet, but I’m so excited! I’m clearing space in my heart and mind for the nuggets within your pages. I’ll be back for the Book Club… thank you for sharing YOUR gifts!

  67. I subscribed to Ann’s blog to receive it in my email. I have loved this blog, It encourages me, challenges me, takes me to HIM. Thanks to Him… thanks to Ann.
    Can’t wait until book club!!!!!

  68. Just got my book yeaterday (and one I ordered for a friend). Stayed up too late reading. And I am wondering- could it really be that Thanksgiving will open the floodgates for me like that? I think it can, but wow- so much to learn myself.

  69. I’d love to obtain a copy of this book… I am a college student studying journalism with not too much money to spend on fun reading, but I have followed Ms. Voskamp’s blog and I love her writing style. It is such an encouragement to me. My life is so very full of gifts– God-fearing friends, a Christian roommate, and the chance at a challenging and deep education, to name the three major ones. From what I’ve read of the first few pages of your book on Amazon, your mission is very similar to one that God has laid on my heart, and one that I try to promote through my blog. We find Christ amid the beautiful ordinary, the everyday gifts that we would otherwise pass by.
Thank you for spreading light and truth!

  70. Just received the book yesterday but haven’t had a chance to read it yet. I’m sure it will be WONDERFUL!

  71. I can’t tell you how much this book has changed me. I was in a very dark period of discontent and ungratefulness and you, Ann, have woken me and left me shaken. I keep picking up the book…re-reading. I have started my own gratitude journal and it is helping and hopefully I will learn how to be thankful in the *hard eucharisteo*. Thank you with all my heart. I look forward to the book discussion.

  72. I subscribed to Ann’s blog, A Holy Experience!

Although I actually thought I’d done this months ago and just realized I wasn’t getting email updates. At any rate, I’m a regular reader so it’s all good!! 🙂

  73. I’m watching in awe… this slideshow… this gift. I’m in awe because I almost didn’t send my picture in… I’m not pretty enough… my face isn’t perfect… my picture is simply a snapshot, not professional. Then I watch this slideshow and I see beauty and I see grace and then I see me. So much for this wounded heart to learn. So very much.

I’m on my second time through One Thousand Gives and will continue to read until I dare to fully live right where I am.

I’m now counting to a million and a million thanks to Ann!

  74. how wonderful. i long for community and hope to find it in the new town we are moving to this week. i’ll be a (little) farmigirl, too! I’ve been wanting to read this book since before you wrote it! 😉

  75. I am getting your book TODAY! Was thinking about getting on my Kindle but I think I want the ‘real’ thing!

  76. Good Morning Ann, I feel like I already know you as a friend, from reading your blog. It’s like no other I’ve read, almost like you’re letting me into your soul, your mind, your heart.
I’m still waiting for my books, one for my daughter too, and can’t wait to get started on this journey with you and the rest of our community!

Stay warm in your farm country, and stay blessed!

  77. I am a new follower to both blogs and really enjoying it. I can’t wait to start this book.

  78. this book is next on the to read list…can’t wait
been a long time subscriber to aholyexperience via google reader and hop over to incourage at times to be encouraged 🙂

So full of truths and gifts straight from His hand. I already count it among my One
    Thousand Gifts.

  80. I really enjoy your blog, Ann. It’s been such an encouragement to me, and I’m looking forward to reading the book. Thank you!

  81. Dear Ann
I found your website and have been a regular reader ever since. I love your encouraging words….they speak life into all who read them.

  88. I’ve been reading Ann’s blog for about a year and have been recommending it to others. It’s so exciting to see her words being shared by so many. God is good and richly blesses us.

  89. I am not what you would call an avid reader, but from what I have read about this book…I am putting it at the top of my ‘to read’ list…sounds like exactly what I’ve been looking for.

  90. I’ve heard about 1000 Gifts a couple of times and have seen the beautiful video. I just ordered it from Amazon and can’t wait to read it! It looks like just what I need.

  91. I just read the first page of One Thousand Gifts online at Amazon. Wow! I am hooked…sounds like a “must-read”!

  92. Well, I don’t know anything about this book but I was directed to this page from another blog. I’d love to win a copy of the book. Anything to encourage me in Christ, would be an excellent read.

  93. Thank you so much for a great giveaway! I can’t wait to receive my copy of the book in the mail!

  94. got your book on my kindle (kendal’s kindle!) and read a lot while i had some scary tests run yesterday. loving the book and got a good report from the radiologist!

  95. I’m only through Chapter 4 and already I sense my heart opening and perspective changing. God is aready using your words to reshape me and rid me of non-Eucharisteo. Bless you, Ann!

  96. Looking forward to the book club being in full swing. I am a bit annoyed with our Post Office. My husband went to check to see if it was in yet, they said no, and yet I got an email from Amazon saying the post office had it (time stamped 11 AM)… and they won’t be open again until Monday. 🙁 so… I’m still waiting… waiting… waiting…

  97. Ann, your writings have impacted me greatly; pointed me to Jesus, to Grace, to humility, to charity to what is true, good and beautiful. Encouraged me to *forgive* and realize that I am a sinner saved by Grace

    thank you

  98. I am really looking forward to getting a copy of this book and sharing and discussing it with my sister. I subscribe to “A Holy Experience” and have been really inspired by the words there. Thank you so much.

  99. I have barely started the book and am yearning for a few hours to just curl up in my comfy chair and read. I am also looking forward to participating in the book club. THANKS for being a positive ‘voice in the wilderness’.

  111. I’ve wanted to say *thank you* for a long time now. You encourage me each day through your blog and through your speaking. I heard you at a Homeschool Conference and still go back to my notes to be refreshed by your words. How beautiful that you do all this for God’s glory!!

  112. I can’t wait to read your book, Ann! I’ve ordered it, but shipping is slow to Russia, where we live! Waiting in anticipation!

  113. I ordered the book in November – and got it this week. I finished it this morning.

Your writing has changed me, Ann; really changed me. Thank you.
    🙂

  117. Ahh. Perfect timing. Husband gone on an all expense paid cruise (ha!! Navy) and it is cold right now in VA! I am planning on reading a book or two or six while he’s gone. Just ordered the book, should get it by Tuesday. I want to get a ton of my friends to join me!! So looking forward to this.

  118. What a wonderful giveaway. Thank you for being so generous with yourself – sharing your heart with us, and throwing in goodies to boot!

  119. I subscribed to both and am leaving my comment. What a wonderful treasure filled giveaway! 🙂

  120. Can’t wait to read the book, and couldn’t agree more that a January weekend spent curled up with a good book (one that warms the soul & lifts the spirit) is a blessing when it occurs!

  121. Tears all over the place watching the book trailer video. What a blessing. Would love to win this basket, but I have my Amazon-ecard (yay, Swagbucks) on its way so I can purchase it otherwise. 🙂 Thanks for the opportunity, and thanks for serving. Blessings!

  122. I am SO excited about this giveaway, thank you for the opportunity! May God bless the winner!

  123. I do subscribe to A Holy Experience~ and when I go there, I don’t want to leave. 🙂

  124. Oh, yes please! Warm is what I’m needing right now, knees knocking for an entirely different reason than shyness (hello, friend!)… it’s cold here! 🙂

Thank you, so much, kind friend. For everything.

  125. I ordered the book from Amazon as soon as I heard about it. I finally got it and read it cover to cover in one day. I absolutely could not put it down. When I got fibro 4 years ago, I decided that I would not be “fibro” but someone blessed with this condition. Since getting this dumb fibro I have been so blessed….beyond words. My hubby and I have been baptized, we belong to a small country church, my children are being raised in the word…..there are just so many BIG blessings that have happened in the four years. Your book reminds me that I don’t need just big blessings but the small ones are everywhere I look. I am changed because of your book. I am focusing daily on small blessings and it has changed my perception….and I love it. Thank you for your words.

  126. Nearly in tears to join this strong community of souls in a great cry of gratitude! Thank you Lord! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! And thank you Ann, for helping us find our voices, our counting, our creating, our loving, and our receiving. This is the most anticipated book I’ve ever waited for, and I relish over every passage, considering in my heart the Lord’s heart. I am taking my time (I don’t want it to end!), and have already ordered more copies for precious soulful colleagues of mine. Namaste–I praise the Holy One who lives within you:)

  127. You already know I’m a fan and consider you to be one of the most anointed writers of our time…your book and your site have encouraged me and challenged my faith. Thank you once again. 🙂

  128. I follow “A Holy Experience” through Google Reader. Do I also need to sign up for e-mail for the additional entry?

  129. I have been getting daily emails from “A Holy Experience” for some time. A friend recommended Ann’s challenges and encouragement. Thanks!

  130. thank you for this beautiful give away……I read Holy experience faithfully as well as incourage and I have been so blessed by them……

    Amy

  131. i’m new to this blog – and am excited about reading the book and seeing what God has in store! thank you for the chance to win some lovely items.

  132. When I am thankful, I am most contented. Gratitude should be a constant for those who have been redeemed from the terrible consequences of sin. Too often, I get self centered and lose my contentedness until I begin praising. Blessings!

  133. I wanted to post on A Holy Experience too–(I’ve been receiving the emails for some time now:), but can’t quite figure out where the comments section is….

Alas, I supposed one comment entry (above) will have to count for all:)

    Thanks again, ~ v

  139. Ann,
I’ve started a letter to you. To share with you how your words and stories have literally changed my life. Thank you. You have no idea how the Lord has used you to open my eyes and put all the pieces of this great puzzle of life together. My birthday is two weeks away, and I’m hoping I can get a copy of your book then. And then I want to send a copy to my Mom who desperately needs to hear. And to all my other friends who struggle to know how to see through the broken places to the God places!! Thank you for this opportunity!!
    Your friend,
    Brenda Brough

  140. I’m loving every word of this book. I don’t cry over books AT. ALL. but I was crying by chapter 2 when things hit a little close to home with the thoughts that plague. So grateful for inspired writing God uses to shower “grace upon grace” into this weary mother’s heart.

Thank you for being obedient to share and bring us to a special place that you share with your God!

I look so forward to reading your book. I received it in the mail last evening and have carried it around wherever I was needed hoping to read a sentence here or there. In the 40 pages I have already read I have been fed with AMAZING NOURISHMENT – thank you!! thank you!!

  185. I’ve been with Ann since, oh, let’s see…. just somewhere under ten years. It’s been a delight every day I’ve had the chance to read her posts. And now a book. Wow. Thank you Ann, for Jesus in you reaching us…. knowing you paid a price, and I thank you.

  186. With 8″ of new snow, a 2 month old, and a wood stove; curling up to read a book sounds wonderful!

  187. I have been following a holy experience for several months now ( by e-mail subscription) . I must say what a life changing experience! There is a new way of looking at things that I have never seen before… THANK YOU! I would love to be included in the giveaway!

  188. God “gifted” me after the death of my daughter to see the beauty in everything. But I am finding this “dare” is opening my eyes to even more beauty and truly helping God heal me. I wake each morning in anticipation of what I might write as my “gift” for the day. And I have to say by thinking of the gift it really does set my day to receive more. Something so easy but yet truly truly healing.
My greatest joy so far is ordering extra’s of the book to give to some women who I’ve wanted to thank for a year now following my daughter’s death. Thank you Ann for “listening” to God and sharing with us what you “heard.” Does that make sense? 🙂
    Molly

Ann, thank you SO much for your blog. Your words speak to my heart in such an amazing way, I can’t even describe it. Thank you for inspiring this mother and wife to be who I’m here to be and do what I’m here to do.

  231. I have been subscribing to A Holy Experience for a while now. I SO look forward to the daily dose of beauty.

  232. Dear Ann,

Having to admit that I VERY much would love to win this L*O*V*E*L*Y gift package. The timing would be excellent as I am just turning the corner from a 3+week ‘pain flare’.

HOWEVER, there are 3 ladies who NEED this encouragement much, much, much more. Each has a child dying of a terminal disease, mito. And one has just been told that her unborn 21-week along (in pregnancy) baby will survive only minutes after birth, if he/she doesn’t die in the womb.

These are raw, tragic lives … BUT God. But God is SO evident in their experiences. After you read a few of even their latest entries, you’ll see what I mean.

    continuing to pray for you,
and sending my love yet again,
    HveHope

    ~::~ ~::~ Quote of the Note ~::~ ~::~
And I realized that in His presence is fullness of joy. And it says that joy is the fruit of the spirit….
When I looked in through the grid of my life for joy,
for cultivating and planting seeds of love,
for developing a heart of gratitude,
for looking for the color and the beauty that God has provided,
it began helping me to understand that the trials in my life were a part of God’s preparing me to become suited for heaven.

  248. Ann! Ann! Ann! I stood in the yard and watched the Big Brown UPS Truck turn the corner up on the highway. “It’s almost here,” my heart quickening its pace. Never have I anticipated a book like this one. Your posts have given, and give more than 1000 gifts to me and I couldn’t be more excited if this were my own publication. You have lighted small fires across the earth as our hearts learn the art of being grateful. YOU are the gift and we all feel we know you because you have read us and told the world what we think.

  249. This is truly one of the most soul speaking books I have read.

  256. How wonderful! I would love to receive this book, I can’t wait to read it!!! I am subscribed to (in)courage now, and I am already subscribed to Holy Experience!

  257. I would love to read this book. I am trying to write down my blessings each day, but it got really hard this week after my 5 year old’s cardiology appt.

  258. Holy Experience has blessed me in so many ways just in a short time. I am so looking forward to reading the book.

  259. I already subscribe to aholyexperience and (in)courage, but am leaving second comment just for fun, okay? I’ll tag on facebook, write a review once finished, etc. Have already recommended to all my friends (see livejournal account!).

  260. Ann,
My ‘whoops’ comment didn’t count, BUT hopefully this will count as ‘entry #2’:

As for me and mine ~ all part of the great Story being written for the Ages ~ I must always remember the Author is in control regardless of the chaos of circumstances around my twenty-four hours of days. While all I see ahead is shrouded in a fog of the unknown… He knows and He guides and He will complete what He started.

  261. I’ve been reading Ann faithfully since 2007 and prayed and prayed I could have her words on a page not just a screen. Giving God all the glory for His amazing grace and thousands of gifts to us! Monica

  262. What a lovely giveaway! I would love to be able to win “One Thousand Gifts” and then be able to participate in the Bloom Book Club. I watched the trailer for the book and I know this book has me written all over it.

  263. Ann,
As entry #3: Just subscribed to Encourage. 🙂

  264. Thank you so much Ann! Eucharisteo! Amazing love. Can’t wait for the Bloom book club to start!

  265. I am a new e-mail subscriber to In(Courage)… still waiting for my feedburner confirmation 🙂

  266. I am so blessed everyday by Ann’s words from A Holy Experience! Thank you, Ann! My book arrived yesterday in the mail and I began to savor it! I am trying to make myself go slow so it will last a while!

  267. Already subscribe to Ann’s blog, where I enjoy her style of writing as well as her photography.

  268. I so look forward to Saturday’s. It is my day to stay in and do what I want too. Today is cold, not to get above freezing. Staying snuggled under my blanket with my feet up, finishing a knit scarf that looks like a necklace for my daughter, reading my Bible, drinking coffee, listening to Christian music on CD, but also have the tv on so can keep up with college basketball ( the tv is on mute by the way).
Had to check back to see if could finally post a comment on about Ann’s book. So looking forward to getting to read it. I always go to Holy Experience first. I have been a follower of her’s for quite a while and also am a follower of inCourage.
    Have a great weekend.

  269. I greatly anticipate my package coming in the mail! Can’t wait to begin reading! Ann, thank you for stepping into the courage to press on, which I KNOW is from the Lord! Blessings to you!

  270. THanks for the chance to win! I’m on Chapter 10, plan to finish by tomorrow and start fresh with the book club. Thank you Ann for following the Holy Spirit’s leading. Your story has and will touch countless lives for Jesus!

  272. I have long been a fan. My DH got me a kindle for Christmas and the first book I bought and read was yours. (I’ve already ordered three hardcopies to give as gifts.) I love the way you write your heart. Blessings to you for blessing us.

  273. I have SO been looking forward to this book and the pictures of all the sisters who will be blessed by reading made me absolutely teary – everyone is so beautiful!!

  274. I subscribed to A Holy Experience Blog.

I haven’t had a chance to buy your book. I just don’t have the funds right now. But I will the first chance I get. I hear nothing but good things about it.

  275. Ann – your words are balm to this battered mama’s soul. I’ve been reading your thoughts for about a year now. You’ve changed how I look at life, how I cherish my children, how I love God. I am anxious to get your book and share it with other women I love. Blessings this weekend.

  276. I’ve been eyeing “One Thousand Gifts” for a little while now…. and more and more realizing it is a “must read.” Can’t wait….

  277. I tried to comment this morning, but it seemed like the website was having some problems, and I cannot find my previous comment. So I’ll try again, and if its a repeat, I apologize.

I’ve been following your blog for several years now, and am subscribed to Holy Experience via email. I really wanted to order your book, but having just returned from the mission field and enrolled in college, I really didn’t have the money to buy one. So I had decided to wait until I could borrow a copy or find it at the library. This morning I was happy to see a chance that I could win one! 🙂 What a lovely treat for the winner.

  278. Two chapters in and already words pierce. I want to scoop up every page in one sitting, but the content is so rich, I must push back, letting each morsel of wisdom slowly digest. Possibly the best read of 2011. Thank you, Ann.

  279. I love your writing, Ann, and your striving hard after God. My book is due to arrive on Wednesday, but I would love to give a copy away to a friend. I’m excited about what I’m going to read and how my life will be changed because of it.
