  1. Psalm 23 is the topic for the last several weeks at my church. Again this morning we will be learning more about what the chapter has to say. Week by week, verse by verse. Wonderful reminder of how Jesus wants us to rely on him to guide us. Without a shepherd, we really will follow each other off a cliff. With him, we can rest beside quiet waters. What is more wonderful than that?

  2. I actually have this on a pendant I used to wear on my rearview mirror. It goes around in a circle on one side. It’s a beautiful reminder daily.

  3. Psalm 23:4 is my favorite verse. I pray this whenever I am afraid..when problems get the better of me…when I am sad…thank you for sharing..

  4. I was thinking about Psalm 23 in church this morning, because they had the hymn “Father Hear the Prayer we Offer”. I like a lot of Christian music, but that I just didn’t want to sing because to me, it seems totally unscriptural. “Father, hear the prayer we offer; Not for ease that prayer shall be”, when Jesus said: “My yoke is easy and My burden is light”.

“Not forever in green pastures Do we ask our way to be”, when here in this Psalm, it says God MAKES us lie down in green pastures. As human beings, I think we have such a tendency to struggle – to want to work for our blessings, we sometimes miss the peace God wants for us.

  5. love this Psalm ~ read at my Mom’s funeral and feel so close to her when I read it ~ a gift ~ blessings

  6. This is a great Psalm that so many of us have memorized (making it easy to whisper slowly to a child as he falls asleep).

One of my favorite scriptures comes right before this Psalm. It’s Psalm 22:3 which says God is enthroned in the praises of His people (I paraphrased). I think it’s a great introduction to Psalm 23 and I like to hear them together. As He lives in real life in our praises, we see the promises in Psalm 23 come to pass.

At least that’s my take 🙂

    Thanks for sharing it today.

  7. I love this Psalm. Psalm 23:6 was the verse I chose as my confirmation verse and even now, it’s the one I recite to myself when I most need to remember God’s promises and his closeness to us.

  8. Perfect timing! Our kids in Sunday school are learning Psalm 23 this month and I am doing a series on it on my blog.

    Cute baby wear!
