  1. You are right on with your post, Kathy. It is a choice to notice the Nativity–activity must be intentionally slowed down. Like you, I use Christmas music and candles to focus my attention on the Child of Hope and Love as well as reading and reflecting on the Nativity events as laid out in Scripture.
    Have a blessed Christmas Day!

  2. I love your nativity lights. They are beautiful. Beautiful and thoughtful post

And this shall be a sign unto YOU, unto ME, unto ALL.

Love that scripture. Have a blessed day.

  3. Thank you so much for this beautiful message–I love the distinction between the need for Nativity versus the constant busyness of activity! This Christmas I’m trying to make more Nativity time–more time to try to meditate on Jesus’ Incarnation and its meaning for me, so I tremendously appreciate this message! Merry Christmas and blessings to all!

  4. Traditions are soo important in each family. My hubby and I watch Charlie Brown Christmas every year. I can relate to Charlie Brown–why all the fuss about what you want, parties, etc. while forgetting the true meaning of Christmas!

My husband and I slow down by saying no to a lot of activities. Our lives are busy enough with our daily work activities. We don’t truly enjoy the whole holiday season, especially as we age. There is too much hoopl and blah blah about buy, buy, buy gifts for everyone. No one seems to stop & remember the true essence of Christmas.

our pastor played a video by Faith Hill called “What a difference a Child makes”. It centers on Mary talking with angel and you see her and Joseph. Images that are presented include 3 crosses. That really hit home!
