“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.”

““People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades. But the word of the Lord remains forever.” 1 Peter 1:24-25”

This is one of my favorite books of the OT. When I was asked to speak at a women’s event at my church in the States I said I’d only do it if I could pick the passage and it wouldn’t be your typical “women’s” event. I wanted to teach on a minor prophet and walked the women through this book. It is the way it ends that captures me, offering all, to God and trusting him.
Thank you for this. I needed this verse as a reminder to rejoice regardless.

Love the verse and the picture. Plus, Dawn – love the short bio – that’s the way to live – camera in one hand and sweet tea in the other. Simple joys.
Beautiful in so many ways. Thanks for creating this and sharing your art. Grateful here.
