  1. September 2012 was a super busy month for me.

Work got extra busy with college starting up again, work at the Student Health Clinic. Add to that our Women’s Bible Study started mid month, family issues.

Found out my dad has malignant melanoma–fortunately it is healing. Also discovered, or think I have, that he has a bit of depression. Mother-in-law had complete knee replacement last week and BP bottomed out. Fortunately she is up and walking. Going to rehab facility today.

Just felt like I’m on a merry-go-round and I want off & some peace & quiet. I try to pray daily–several times. Hubby and I do a devotion each night.

Quiet time with God is awesome–also listening to some quiet praise & worship music does wonders for me!

  2. Love the story about Corrie Ten Boom and fleas. A reminder I needed to hear today: to thank God for even the hard things…

The primary way this study has affected me is by really challenging me to make sabbath happen. Now, every Sunday, we are finally getting off of our technology and resting. Truly resting! It’s wonderful!

  3. This book study has been great. I was one of the people that was surprised to see that the Stress chapter was about praying 7 times a day instead of taking away scheduled items. And at first I thought that maybe adding prayer 7 times a day was adding MORE stress! LOL. But I see the beauty of this chapter and that if we put God first in our life, the rest of the chaos in life will fall into place. God is our center and everything else lines up after that.
Thanks again. This was a fantastic book choice.

  4. I am amazed how this book has changed my perspective on many areas in my life. Chapter 7-Stress was a welcomed chapter in my life, at this point. Even if I don’t stop to pray 7 times a day, I have noticed that I’m praying more, and I’m more intentional with what fills my quiet time. I’m also focusing on what fills our time, as a family. “Everyone is busy,” or so they say, but we create that in our lives. I keep asking myself, “Is too much being demanded of my time outside my control, or am I putting those demands on myself?”

  5. I just want to say thanks to Jessica & Angie for taking the time and effort to select such great books and for spending the time making the videos for the Bloom book club. I just read 7 during the past two weeks and watched all of the videos over the past two days. 7 is a book I wasn’t sold on at first so waited til I could get it through the library but I so enjoyed reading it! Jen Hatmaker has the greatest sense of humour and there certainly are fabulous takeaway messages!

I’m a little surprised that there aren’t many comments on this particular Bloom book study but perhaps there are others like me who can’t take part of the book study in real time but enjoy catching up on it later. So keep up the good work ladies! I look forward to seeing what else you will recommend and watching future videos 🙂

  6. This Seven revolutionized my life! I’m still linked to it like glue. By my Bible and in my discussions. Since the InCourage conference I organized a group in my house. I haven’t been able to share the conference because my group is not very much involved with tech. I’m working little by little and we are organizing a Seven Project for the next months. Love!
