What to Expect

We’re looking forward to kicking off this study on Prayer with you! Prayer: Finding the Heart’s True Home is broken down into three parts.  Instead of having the author of the book join us on the couch this time around, we’ve invited three close friends to join us to each discuss a section. And we’re so excited to add Robin Dance‘s voice to the Bloom team! She’ll be here on Bloom for each Chapter study, as well as adding to any discussion in the comments.

There are 21 chapters total in this book- so we’ll be featuring about 3-4 chapters per week. Don’t let this discourage you, you can always keep up with the latest video posts on Bloom and by subscribing to receive email updates.

You’re also invited to join us on our Bloom Facebook Page to interact with other readers!

Buy a Book, Give a Book — and Get Free Shipping!

Right now on DaySpring.com, you can purchase a copy of Prayer for $14.99.

We try our best to make it possible for everyone to participate in the Bloom study, regardless of financial ability to purchase a book. If your financial situation is difficult and you are unable to purchase a book, you can request a free copy this Wednesday. We ask that you only request a copy if you truly can’t afford the book and are willing to participate in the study. We have a very limited amount to give away and that will depend on how many sponsored books are purchased.

This is where we could use your help. If you are able to purchase a book for someone in need, DaySpring has set up a “Sponsored Book” option for you.

And when you purchase a copy for yourself as well as a Sponsored Book you can receive free shipping with code BLOOMBOOK! This code is valid on any two book purchase, so it will work if you’d like to purchase two books for yourself or two sponsored books. DaySpring will take care of delivering the sponsored book to a reader in need.

We are so thankful for DaySpring who is providing copies of Prayer for those in need of  a free book. We are also SO thankful for each of you– for stepping in and caring for your fellow Bloom sisters by purchasing a sponsored copy. This need would not be met without you!

If you have any questions about the sponsored program, you can visit the FAQ page found here.

I think this is perfect timing for me. Prayer is my word this year. A big word with huge, amazing power! I appreciate Richard Foster and The Celebration Of Discipline so I am sure this will be amazing too. Thank you for picking such a worthy topic, one that most of us struggle with. Prayer changes everything!

Yes, yes, yes! Thank you for your encouragement. We are glad to have you participate.

Wow, I am very intimidated on this one. Sounds like a heavy book and a heavy topic. However, I love to see you guys talk about the books and break them down into manageable pieces. 🙂

Don’t be intimidated!!!! We promise to do our best to make it accessible:) its easy to feel like prayer is complicated and heavy-hopefully you’ll join us and see how we felt the same!

Thanks for encouraging me with your comment; I like it when people talk about me behind my back :).

    • Robin Dance says

      January 24, 2013 at 2:08 pm

      Hi Ashley,

SORRY for my delayed reply (I’ve been on the road since we completed filming :/); have you gotten your answer yet? I’m almost certain sponsored book copies have all been spoken for, but I’ve seen several people say they found copies at their local libraries. (Answer to your specific question is on this post: https://www.incourage.me/2013/01/prayer-request-a-sponsored-copy.html Sponsored books requests opened yesterday and usually all available copies are requested VERY quickly…but you’re certainly welcome to try :).)

Prayer is a “feel good no matter what” for me – I talk to God all the time – I would say that is my “prayer” – it’s in my mind, body & soul – 24/7/365 – in the best or worse of life & I’m all good with that:) This will be very interesting!

    • Robin Dance says

      February 5, 2013 at 9:40 am

      Phyllis,

Well, it certainly seems like you’re intentioned in your prayer life; Foster’s broad scope of the types of prayer will possibly blow your mind!! 🙂

  21. Lisa E says

    February 4, 2013 at 9:31 pm

I got a copy of my book today, and needless to say, I am beyond thrilled! I’m having a hard time putting the book down, and I can’t wait to join the discussion. This seems to be just what I need right now, as I am going through some struggles. My husband has some very serious medical conditions, which has wiped out our financial situation. I’ve been worrying myself litterally sick! This is just what I need!!!!!!

    • Robin Dance says

      February 5, 2013 at 9:42 am

      Lisa,

I’m so sorry to hear about your husband’s illness :(, and how it has affected your finances. It’s hard to understand that even in the midst of that God is at work in your lives. I do pray that this study helps you to see Him more clearly, to have a sweeter fellowship with the One who loves you most.

  22. Robin Dance says

    February 5, 2013 at 9:37 am

    Cassie, Marilyn, ShaLonda and Laura,

Thank you for sharing your excitement and reasons for wanting to take part in this study; do you realize how much that encourages US? We’re grateful for your participation, but hopeful as your lives are changed as a result of spending time seeking God through prayer. 🙂

  23. Ashley says

    February 7, 2013 at 9:25 am

I am so excited to kick the book off tomorrow! I had a question though, what is section 1? Is it in the book? What parts are you talking about exactly? (I’m really sorry about the unintelligent questions)

  24. Vivi says

    February 7, 2013 at 10:34 am

Looking forward to this adventure & to a sense of community. I read PRAYER a few years back & have had it on my mind lately. This announcement seemed meant to be!

  25. Dee Reynolds says

I see a need around me for more intercession. So many people asking for someone to pray with, for them. Want God to guide and bless me for this in 2013.

  26. Monika says

    February 8, 2013 at 4:58 pm

I got the book and will be following you from Germany.
Thanks so much for the “push” towards prayer!

  27. Lauren says

    February 11, 2013 at 12:48 pm

Loved the first chapter. Prayer has always been a struggle for me, because I’ve envisioned it exactly as you guys talked about.. some big holy thing, when really, God just wants me to pay attention to Him.. and give Him the attention, and praise He deserves. Thank you for this study! Many blessings!
