About the Author

I’m a lover of Jesus, a wife and a mom, and the unworthy recipient of God’s grace. Occasionally, I’m inspired to put pen to paper, and I’ve found it gives me a voice I didn’t know I had.

  1. So Sweet. Grandmothers like her are rare. My mom is The nieces’ and nephews’ loving grandmother. You described her so well. They have a much needed comfort in her.

  2. We have both been blessed to have been given such tangible examples of our Lord’s love. Thank you for helping me to recall the joy that my Grandmother brought to so many.

  3. Jennifer, you just made me cry this morning. I was so moved by your heartfelt words. What a beautiful and uplifting start to my day. You have reminded me of God’s subtleties – that when we can’t find Him, in our darker times, He’s always there – we just need to open our eyes and see Him. Abundant love! I am so glad you have the treasure of a Grandmother so beloved. Thank you for sharing today.

  4. Beautiful! Thank you for telling a story so sweet and real. I am grateful that you’ve pointed me back to the blessings in my own family causing me to pause and remember God loving me though my mom. I pray that He will use me in the same way. Blessings to you

  6. I am always so thankful when God opens my eyes to “see.” In the looking back you saw. What a memory to treasure.

  7. What a beautiful story! My grandmother lived with us while we were growing up too, and I have such loving memories of her. Now I am the “Meemaw” and my 2 beautiful granddaughters are spending some time with us for spring break. Last night we had a “slumber party” and we all slept on the living room floor. What a blast! I think we see God through each other!

  8. My Grandmother help raise me as well. We visited her in the summers and I am the woman I am because of her. She is 95 and still lives on her own. It is such a blessing to know her and to have heard her stories. Thank you for telling your story and reminding me of mine!

  11. Wow Jennifer…so beautiful! Your words pulled me in quickly and I found myself completely in your story…in your heart. What a wonderful legacy your grandmother left you – knowing more of God’s love through your grandmothers love. So precious. Thank you for sharing this with me!

  12. Positively beautiful, Jennifer. Reading your words caused tears to pour down my cheeks and a flood of beautiful memories to come rushing forth. My vessel had an Irish brogue, butter soft skin, and smelled of Jean Nate and Listerine. Although my grandmother has been gone for more years than I care to remember, she will forever be where my heart calls home and all the proof I will ever need that there are angels among us!

  13. Jennifer, oh my goodness! You have captured your grandmother,my Aunt, so perfectly. She has always made me feel God’s love in her genuine smile and comforting voice. Now that I’ve lost my mom, your grandmother reminds me so much more than I’ve ever realized of all the special ladies God has put in my life. How blessed am I?
