Over the past several months, we’ve talked a lot about being women of courage. But just how do we do that? How do we live brave? How do we live as women of courage when life is overwhelming or even scary? When we’re trying something new, enduring the grind of the everyday, or facing something we never imagined, who do we turn to as examples or mentors?
These aren’t easy questions, and they don’t have easy answers. And we are asking them right along with you! Thankfully, God has answers for even the trickiest questions and the most vulnerable desires of our hearts, and we can find them every time we open His Word.
The Bible features so many women who lived courageously despite unusual, difficult, or even frightening circumstances. From women who were called to step into leadership roles to women who had to rely on God’s daily provision for their needs, these heroes of the Bible can show us exactly how to lean into the strength of the Lord when our own isn’t enough.
And despite how we may feel or what we may be experiencing or going through, we are women of courage because that is who God says we are.
Yeah, you heard us right. You are a woman of courage because God says you are.
We know that can be hard to take in and harder still to recall when we really need it. So we have a FREE gift for you that we pray will help that truth settle into your soul.
We’d love to send you You Are a Woman of Courage: a series of five devotions. Thanks (in)courage!
I signed up. In the daily grind of life, I can use reassurance that, through Christ working in me, I have what it takes to not only survive but to be more than a conqueror!

Thank you for these devotionals in advance, every morning I try to read the one from (in)courage, the topics are always timely and bring me thoughtful peace.
We love hearing that, Kathy!
Thank you for sharing with all of us! As a woman I do lose sifht of who I am.
Reminds me of a hymn, He Came to Me. Sometimes in our brokenness it is hard to reach out, but He comes to us. Praise the Lord.
I absolutely LOVE having these come to my phone and start my day!! Thank you!! ♥️✨
That’s the best encouragement we could get! Thanks for having us in your inbox, Joni.
Thank you for continually pointing us back to what the word of God says about us. Sweet truth!
I am a widow and the Lord has made it possible for me to sell my home in NM and move close to my family in Texas. While I know that this is what I need to do I need courage to face the challenges of this move. I am leaving a wonderful church family and I am seeking to not only survive but thrive in my new home. I am looking forward to the opportunities to have more quality time with my family and I want the Lord to use me to strengthen our faith and our family love.
Jan, thank you for sharing this. Praying now that God infuses you with courage to trust His good plans for your future and listen closely to His voice. May His presence comfort you when it’s hard. xx
In Courage,
There are so many courageous women in Bible. Ruth lost her husband, yet left family & homeland to cling to Naomi who had lost two sons & husband. She ventured to a new land. God provided for her courageous faith. Mary, a young girl betrothed, gets a message about becoming pregnant. She accepts the huge responsibility without thinking about consequences. Esther, an orphan raised by her uncle, gets taken into king’s harem. Because of her quiet beauty & courage she becomes queen. Eventually she saves her nation. Those acts of bravery took courage-especially in the days & times they lived. I find it hard to put myself in line with these women. I took a leap of faith & went on a missions trip to a local state prison. At the end of weekend we all got to go inside the prison to the great room. There we had a closing ceremony. It took courage to face those men (prisoners). God was with us all the time & He will continue to be with all us women of courage!
Blessings 🙂
Such a perfect gift! I wrote a 31 day devotional on Brave Faith but what I know is that courage is ongoing, hard, and possible because of God who loves us through our challenges.
Yes, Mary! I love the way you said that.
