The angel of the Lord found Hagar beside a spring of water in the wilderness, along the road to Shur. The angel said to her, “Hagar, Sarai’s servant, where have you come from, and where are you going?”
“I’m running away from my mistress, Sarai,” she replied.
The angel of the Lord said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit to her authority.” Then he added, “I will give you more descendants than you can count.”
And the angel also said, “You are now pregnant and will give birth to a son. You are to name him Ishmael (which means ‘God hears’), for the Lord has heard your cry of distress. This son of yours will be a wild man, as untamed as a wild donkey! He will raise his fist against everyone, and everyone will be against him. Yes, he will live in open hostility against all his relatives.”
Thereafter, Hagar used another name to refer to the Lord, who had spoken to her. She said, “You are the God who sees me.” She also said, “Have I truly seen the One who sees me?” So that well was named Beer-lahai-roi (which means “well of the Living One who sees me”). It can still be found between Kadesh and Bered.
Genesis 16:7-14 (NLT)
Perhaps you’re facing difficulty that feels unbearable. Perhaps you’ve been used or abused, left alone and unloved. Maybe you found yourself in a bad situation — and made it worse. Perhaps the promises you were made turned out to be false, or maybe the gifts you were offered were rescinded. Let Hagar’s story encourage you! Though she had a child with her mistress’s husband, though she provoked her mistress until her abuse was returned, though she ran away from her problems — God didn’t turn away from Hagar.
Take heart from God’s faithfulness to Hagar, and share her hope in Him. God’s promises are always true and will always be fulfilled. They will meet you in the hard place — even if you are running away — just as the angel met Hagar with God’s promise right in the middle of her wandering. His promises will always provide real hope despite the circumstance.

In Courage,
Everyone goes through a wilderness season in their life. 2020 was a huge one for many. Take heart & don’t get depressed. God sees you & hears your cries. He will come to you & give you the comfort you need. Psalm 23:4-5 “Yea though I walk THROUGH the valley of shadow of death I will fear no evil. For thou art with me. Thy rod & staff they comfort me.” God not only sees us, but is with us always. We need to remember that & turn our eyes upward toward Heaven. talk to Him. Tell Him of your trials. He will give you the comfort you need.
Blessings 🙂

Amen truly God will meets us right where we are in the midst of our storms, God is there for us no matter what we are going through or what we are facing in our lives weather health, financial, relationships or name it . When we trust God and surrender everything unto Him , He will take good care of us. God grace is sufficient and His strength made perfect in our weakness. Amen

I appreciate this post, but to be honest I’m struggling with believing that God truly sees and hears me. I’ve been praying for 7 years for my marriage to be restored and if it’s not to at least be treated with respect by my ex. And nothing. He has only treated me worse and he continues to deny responsibility for his actions and makes it seem like I’m 100% to blame. It’s hard and hurtful and I’ve been wondering if God has left me in this awful hurtful place. My ex has walked away from the Lord with no visible consequence. I haven’t walked away from God but feel like God has left me. I’d appreciate prayers. This is been hard for so long.

Brenda,
I hear your pain and frustrations… I am in the same situation. I too, go back and forth with similar thoughts and feelings… but I push through the negative thoughts to once again reclaim my hope in Jesus. For my fight isn’t with my husband, it is against the enemy. I must remember: Ephesians 6:12
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
I pray fervently against the enemy’s attacks and schemes on my husband and family. I remain standing… Never give up sister! Remain steadfast in your faith and hope in Him who sees and hears all! Keep believing…
Luke 1:45
