Sometimes, we struggle to find joy — even when we know and love the Lord. And sometimes joy shows up in a tangle of other emotions, and we’re unsure which thread to pull. Joy is often found in the company of gratitude and hope; surprisingly, it’s also available through grief and weariness. For most of us, if we had to describe our relationship with joy, we would say, “It’s complicated.”
This Bible study about courageously seeking and sharing joy will help, so let’s dive in together starting May 3rd!
In our Courageous Joy Online Bible Study, we’ll learn to find joy in every circumstance we face and to share it with everyone we encounter. We’ll begin to understand how a person can truly count it all joy, even when the “all” we’re given is not the “all” we were hoping for or expecting.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. You will need a copy of Courageous Joy to fully participate in the study. We will provide the reading guidelines, discussion questions, inspirational quotes, and video conversations along the way!
2. Sign up for the Online Bible Study (it’s free to join!). Click here to register, and when you do, we will send you the first week of the Courageous Joy Bible study for FREE!
3. The study starts May 3rd, will run for six weeks in a private Facebook group, and will consist of readings, discussion, and weekly videos. Sign up and watch your email, especially on April 23rd when we send out the link to the private Facebook group.
4. There will be a weekly email recap sent out throughout the study, so if you do not have Facebook, you’re still able to access the weekly study discussion videos.
Invite a few friends to join you! Share this page with your friends so they can sign up too! If you’re looking for a way to connect with other women in real life, this is a great way to do so. Simply read each week of Bible study, then gather together (in person or online) to watch that week’s video, enjoy your own discussion, and close in prayer. Super fun and low stress, yes?
Digging into Scripture together — with real-life friends and sisters from around the world — makes it that much sweeter.
Together, let’s make Psalm 100 our anthem:
Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the LORD, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the LORD is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.

I have just completed week one of Courageous Joy in my personal study. Not only am I reading Scripture and studying but also answering thought provoking questions about my life in Him and how I am experiencing and could experience life changing joy. it has been an inspirational challenge to both my head and heart.
Becky Keife says
That’s so encouraging to hear, Kathy!
Sandy Richardson says
I am finding this confusing.
“2. Sign up for the Online Bible Study (it’s free to join!). Click here to register, and when you do, we will send you the first week of the Courageous Joy Bible study for FREE!”
What’s the difference between “Online Bible Study” and the “Courageous Joy Bible Study”? If only the first week of the “Courageous Joy” study is free, what does it cost for the whole six weeks? I looked around and couldn’t find anything about the cost for the whole study.
Much as I’m very interested in this because I’m struggling to find joy in both my spiritual life and my regular life, I long ago decided not to sign up for anything that doesn’t state fees and costs up front. There were a few too many times when I got involved with something, was really enjoying or getting a lot out of it, only to then find out I couldn’t afford to continue.
Could you please make it clear what the ongoing cost for the “Courageous Joy” study is.
Thank you, 🙂
Kathy says
I think the only cost is for the book. You get first chapter, as a free preview, when you join the study. The study is free.
Gail says
That is correct. I’ve done these studies before. Just completed Courageous Simplicity.
Nina says
The book is $14.99 and worth every penny. You will definitely enjoy it! You can get it through this email at click on the picture.
Becky Keife says
Hi Sandy,
Sorry for the confusion. Yes, the gals you answered are correct. You purchase the Courageous Joy Bible Study for less than $15 (available wherever books are sold). Going through the study online as a community is free. When you sign up, you’ll get access to a private Facebook group, six teaching videos, and more. (The first week free is just in case people want to start reading right away.) I hope that helps clarify things and that you’ll choose to join us!
Warmly,
Becky Keife

Sandy Richardson says
Thank you Becky, Kathy, Gail and Nina!
I’ll be signing up later today (will be leaving for church soon ) and will also purchase the book.
Thanks, hugs and blessings!
Sandy

Hi Sandy! All our friends chiming in here are correct — the only cost to you is for your full copy of Courageous Joy. Studying with us is free, no ongoing costs at all. And we will indeed send you the first week of the study for free, digitally, so you can start reading right away. Feel free to ask any more questions, we’re here to help! 🙂

In Courage,
All ready finished week one & working on week two of Courageous Joy. Loved Courageous Simplicity so I know this will be just as good. Mary Carver is an excellent writer. Prayers for everyone to realize what true joy is. Unlike happiness that depends on emotions joy is being content with what God has given us both here on Earth & in Heaven.
Blessings 🙂
